With heavy hearts around the world caused by immense destruction, oppression, unjustifiable crimes and violence against women (to say the least), this women’s day felt a little more significant.
I had the humbled privilege to hear stories of women in Afghanistan, share their dedication, resilience, strength and hunger to constantly learn and evolve with very limited resources.
It reminded me of the real power of community, of women supporting women, sharing knowledge, lifting each other up, and continuing to grow even in the hardest circumstances.
Many of these images don’t even scratch the surface… just small fragments of connection, love, or a simple reminder that the perfect woman is an ideological construct and not an identity..
To the mothers carrying families on their shoulders.
The daughters carving new paths.
The women fighting for their rights, including trans women claiming their place in the world.
The women pursuing education against all odds.
The women holding households, communities and futures together.
And to the women in my own life who have loved me, challenged me and pushed me to grow through every phase… Here’s to all of you, today and everyday 💝💖
