Our tradition is to celebrate for 13 days. A time spent visiting friends and family giving gifts, dressing up, sharing meals and sweets, reading poetry, spring clean your home and ending it in April called sīzdæh bedar سیزدهبدر on the 13th day where the whole community gathers outdoors to celebrate in nature together.
When times feel heavy in Iran I turn to the nostalgia that raised me.

As I roam around Paris for Mens FW Iran slowly gets internet again. I finally receive news from my family and friends in Iran😭. Some safe and others have been brutally murdered. First is my voice note which would have been one of millions sent during the month of Jan 26 as Iran has a population over 90 million people & second vn, please listen to this songs message as it represents the brave people and he is sadly no longer with us🕊️
As I watch the Eiffel Tower sparkle I am numb and weirdly delusional that this is even happening but when I ask what can I do, my loved ones from Iran just ask that I spread awareness 🔊 as guilty and helpless as this feels.
As beautiful as Paris is and I am grateful for my freedom but I am not present, the voices and thoughts in my head are with Iran. Like many abroad Iranians we are broken but having to continue on with life. #freeiran #iranmassacre
Diary entry Part 2/2
On my walk I saw this mechanic working late in a garage. Everytime I see a Merc it hurts. Then later in the night cocktails deep Nilly sends me the picture she took of me and Rufus from 9 years ago! Dam fb throwbacks. I was drunk by that point and got all emotional. I refuse to actually acknowledge I’ve sold him. I pretend as though he’ll be there waiting for me in the drive way when I get back to Sydney. Oh well that’s a future problem to deal with. In the meantime this Kurdish music is really making me feel. Tito and aıdyn said there’s Kurdish restaurants in Paris. Maybe I’ll go.. I hope they have the soup mum always made. So I was walking down the street and this guy barks at me!? I gave him the biggest dirty and kept walking then I stopped and was like.. actually.. imma go and confront this man. So I went back and asked him ‘why do you bark at women?’ He saıd no this ıs the fırst tıme ıve done this because your beautiful and ı wanted to joke with you. Then he asked if he can cook dinner for me one night. Should I? He’s Tunisian and I haven’t tried Tunisian food before. Oh and then I saw the Eiffel Tower sparkle. The views made it feel like GTA then my curious mind went down a rabbit hole and ofc someone made a GTA Paris 😭😂💀
