Meet Katherine. As a student at the University of Michigan studying International Studies and Spanish, Katherine joined our International Summer Programme looking for academic credit and a new experience in Cambridge. What she found was much more. “The experience far exceeded my expectations.” From thought-provoking classes to concerts, plenary lectures and afternoon tea, Katherine embraced every part of the programme experience. “The lecturers were incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. You could sense their passion and expertise in every class. It was inspiring.” Studying alongside learners from around the world was another highlight. “Meeting people from all over the world was one of the best parts. Everyone brought something different to the table.” Her time in Cambridge also reignited something important. “Cambridge reminded me of the pure joy of learning, of being curious for curiosity’s sake.” Inspired by Katherine's story. We’re thrilled to announce the seven writers on The 2026 Propel Cambridge Poetry Prize shortlist! ✨ The inaugural prize received 1400 entries from emerging poets across the world. This year’s judge, Bhanu Kapil, selected the following shortlist of 7 writers from a longlist of 50 poets. A note on the selections from our judge, Bhanu Kapil: “I was deeply moved to read the poems that reached me: the fifty poems of the longlist, written or sent from many countries and many places and many times. In these poems, I found the roar of animals floating in the sky, aftermaths of many kinds. All the left-over parts of an entire life. I found the tenderness and loss and desire that circulates in moments of departure. In the seams between these poems, what arrived? Howls. Barks. Shouts. New silences.“ The winner will be announced mid-May 2026. Read more about the poets and the full quote from our judge at @propelmagazine (link in bio). Congratulations to our 2026 shortlist! It has been a pleasure to spend time with your poems: Chii Ọganihu @chiioganihu Elisávet Makridis @elisahhhvet Nyachiro Lydia Kasese @ms_lilly_py Rebecca Ferrier @rmlferrier Simran Singh @simran_singhxo Sneha Subramanian Kanta @snehaskanta Tasneem Maher

A special day in Cambridge💐 🎉 On 25 April, we came together at The Guildhall to celebrate our learners at our annual Awards Ceremony. Learners, families, academics and colleagues joined us to recognise those who completed award-bearing courses in the 2024-25 academic year, a significant milestone and the start of their journey as part of the @cambridgeuniversity alumni community. For many, it was the first time meeting in person after studying from across the world, making the day even more meaningful. A few moments from a day we’re really proud of. Congratulations to our awardees!
