We need 1,000,000 more midwives.
Midwives are essential to safe, respectful, and dignified care for mothers, babies, and families. They monitor, guide, reassure, advocate, and support — before birth, during birth, and long after a baby has arrived.
We created this video for Bumi Sehat in Bali to share more about their work and the vital role midwives play in providing compassionate, community-based care.
Today is a moment to recognise how much we owe to midwives everywhere: their knowledge, patience, presence, and commitment help make birth safer and more supported.
