“Does the guy who wrote the CrossFit book even do CrossFit?” Oh absolutely yes. But please do not ask me to do a handstand walk.

Swam in Croatia, hit All Star Weekend in San Fran, hung out with LeBron in Shanghai, lounged with Lucia in Tenerife, ran a Hyrox race in Miami, shot rifles in Reno, met Greg Glassman in France, watched F1 in Vegas, visited the set of a Star Wars movie in London, ate baklava in Istanbul, learned badminton, padel, Muay Thai and a bit more German, got into a fight about pull-ups with Pete Hegseth, talked to Hugh Jackman, Mark Wahlberg, Tom Hiddleston and David Chang, bought like 12 Bob Dylan records and a leather jacket and a Labubu, smoked several cigars, read 60 books, played TONS of Balatro, tried (and failed) to get good at chess, got my CrossFit coaching certification, wrote another book (coming soon), worked on a TV series (hopefully coming soon), and made a baby (coming VERY soon), all in all an amazing year ❤️

I am so happy to announce that my forthcoming book THE GLASS BOX, which tells the dramatic true story of the rise of CrossFit from a revolutionary fitness methodology in Southern California to a multi-million dollar global exercise phenomenon, has been sold to HarperCollins and will be coming soon to a retailer near you. This book is many years in the making and is the product of hundreds and hundreds of hours of research and interviews, and I can’t wait to share it with the world. Thank you to my agent, Peter Steinberg at @utapublishing , and to my new editor, @rakeshsatyal , who understood immediately why this story was so special.

wrote a book, ran a race with my wife, spoke some German, swam with turtles in Bali, learned ring muscle-ups, talked to Gordon Ramsay, Josh Brolin, Glen Powell, and Dana White, furnished a home, ate peach pie in Atlanta, got a second-degree sunburn, wrote 50 features for the Times, went to the CrossFit Games, took Lucia to Pisa, watched a UFC fight ringside in Vegas, saw an NBA game in Paris, sunbathed in Tenerife, had Ottolenghi in London, read 54 books, took the cat to the park, logged too many hours in Black Ops 6, lived life, savoured everything, dreamed of even more
