Last week, our team competed virtually in the Helmut Kipphan Student Chapter Competition for the TAGA NextGen Conference! We had the incredible opportunity to present this video showcasing our journal, 'Crosscurrents', and had a great experience taking in all the amazing work from other TAGA chapters.
We are so proud to share that Cal Poly TAGA brought home 1st place in Journal Design and Publication Production! A huge thank you to our advisor, Dr. Ma, and every person who supported us along the way.
Be sure to stay on the lookout for next year's board applications. We will be releasing information soon!

We’re excited to introduce the color palette for the 2026 journal! These colors embody our theme, Crosscurrents, and were chosen with accessibility at the forefront. We carefully considered for both print and web to ensure our work is legible and inclusive across every medium. Throughout the journal, these colors flow through our illustrations and layouts, reflecting the journal’s exploration of themes of DEI across disciplines and diverse ideas.

A note from our designer Ashlee:
“Our title font for this year’s journal is Noka, a modern display typeface known for its clean geometric design and strong visual personality. It was designed by Daniel Sabino and published by Blackletra in 2017.
This sans-serif font has a more digital and technological feel that makes it well-suited for this year’s theme, Crosscurrents, and connects to the human-centered design of our content. Check this font out for free on Adobe Fonts!”
