Where imagination meets innovation Cal Poly Universities bring Jungle Jumpstart to life — a bold celebration of teamwork, creativity, and the harmony between nature and technology. Bursting with color, motion, and intricate floral artistry, this jungle-inspired float proves that when collaboration leads the way, extraordinary ideas can truly thrive. #RoseParade #CalPoly #JungleJumpstart @calpolyrosefloat

Rainforest vines spark parade designs! 🌴🌺 "The magic in teamwork," the theme for the 2026 @rose_parade , has been part of our @calpolyrosefloat tradition for 76 years. And this year's float will require as much magic and teamwork as ever! From now until January 1, the team of 150 students will construct "Jungle Jumpstart," which includes a 40-foot-long robot laying in a lush jungle as it's resourcefully restored by a team of animal engineers. ✨🤖🦜🐒🐸🐆✨ “I am proud of the leadership team’s willingness to take on such an ambitious design." -Amelia Atwell, Architecture student and CPP Rose Float President Read more about our latest Rose Float via the 🔗 in bio.

The year turns over, and the cycle starts anew. 🔁 The new leadership cohort assembles for the first time in February. The Design department takes over in March, and we are all along for the ride. Leadership then reassembles in April to make the decisions that shape the year as a whole. This marks Cal Poly Rose Float’s 7️⃣8️⃣th entry into the Tournament of Roses.

The Cal Poly Rose Float is a proud symbol of Cal Poly’s Learn by Doing tradition—and this year, the program made history. 🌹 On January 1, 2026, the 77th float entry, “Jungle Jumpstart,” traveled down Colorado Boulevard in the Rose Parade and earned the prestigious Sweepstakes Trophy, the parade’s highest honor. 🏆 During Poly Gives (Apr. 9–11), you can support the students who make this achievement possible. Gifts help fund meals during long build days, safety gear and coveralls, fresh flowers, structural materials, and travel between campuses throughout the year. ✨ Help support the next generation of Rose Float builders. 🔗 Donate through the Poly Gives link in our bio.
