CalOptima Health leaders recently visited @chapmanu to discuss the successful implementation of its Workforce Development Grant, which provides 18 full scholarships to students pursuing careers as Physician Assistants. After graduation, these students have committed to working in Orange County for at least five years, supporting our members with important health care services throughout the region. In a few weeks, Cal State Fullerton student Vicky Torres will graduate with her nursing degree thanks to a $10,000 stipend from CalOptima Health. Vicky was featured in CSUF News and shared her gratitude for the financial support that allowed her to focus on her studies without the stress of worrying about finances. Vicky was inspired to become a nurse after her personal experience with cancer and her desire to take care of others who are experiencing health challenges. She is among 89 other CSUF nursing students to receive support as part of CalOptima Health’s $5 million Provider Workforce Development Initiative. @csufofficial is one of seven institutions that received funding through this grant program.
