We’re Against Living Miserably. Are you with us? Today, for World Mental Health Day, we’re launching something new with the help of some friends. And we’re calling on all of you to join us. This is more than our name - it’s a movement. A way for people to come together to take a stand against suicide. When the world’s feeling like a bin fire, this is about finding the joy in the everyday: from cold water swimming (or bobbing) to listening to Chappell Roan on repeat. It’s about celebrating what gets you through - creating a powerful, positive, unstoppable force that shows everyone that when everything feels dark, we’ll find the light. Let’s show people they’re not alone. That we’re for the tomorrows. For finding a way to get through. Join us and take a stand against suicide. 👉 Get involved and get the tee. We want everyone up and down the country to wear it. Comment 'tee' and we'll DM you a link.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, I am proud to be supporting @calmzone for the incredible work they do. Let’s make a pact to check in on each other, give that friend a call, send that text, or just reach out and grab a coffee with a loved one. But most importantly, don’t forget that you never have to carry the heavy stuff alone. Look after each other, and yourselves x

So take the pressure off yourself. And focus on one small, consistent step. Because science (and Wendy) says so. Effective suicide prevention doesn’t start at crisis point. It starts with the small things that help you cope, connect, and feel better. If we can take small actions now, we can help prevent suicide in the future. Bit 👏 by 👏 bit 👏 🔗Link in bio for some examples of small habits that stack up.

Today is the start of Mental Health Awareness Week. We’re shouting loudly that great mental health care isn’t just clinical, it’s human. It’s the kind voice at the end of the phone when you’re worried about rent and too unwell to work. It’s the adviser who listens actively, rather than waiting for their turn to speak. And it’s you reminding friends and loved ones that these contact details can save lives. Please share 💙 Visual description: A Green graphic with a list of mental health helplines for Mental Health Awareness Week. It includes: Mind: 0300 102 1234 (Open 9am–6pm weekdays) Samaritans: 116 123 (Always open) Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM): 0800 58 58 58 (Open 5pm–midnight) If you’re in Wales, CALL: 0800 132 737 (Always open) If you’re under 25, The Mix: Text THEMIX to 85258 (Always open) Text at the bottom says: “Share and save this post.”

Taking small actions now means you can help prevent suicide in the future. That’s why this Mental Health Awareness Week, we’ve put together seven small actions that will have a big impact. Because when it comes to mental health, it’s often these small, consistent actions that make all the difference and help make sure stuff doesn’t build up to crisis point. That 10 minute walk after work. Pressing send on that check-in text to a mate. Taking 5 to regulate your breathing. These are the small actions that will stack up. These are the start of effective suicide prevention. 🤝 Do one day or give all seven a go. Send to someone who might appreciate it. Or save this for later.

The Trek for CALM is back for its second year! It brings together two things I’m really proud of as a @calmzone Ambassador - I got to meet so many incredible people and hear their stories, which really brought home why CALM is so needed. We also raised over £125k for CALM’s life saving services! This year, we’re trekking on 19th September. I can’t wait to do it all again, and I hope you’ll be there with me. You can register now to join us by following the link in CALM’s bio. I’m determined we’re going to raise even more this year so I’ve kickstarted my fundraising with a donation, so even if you can’t join us, by donating to any of the trekkers you’ll be playing a massive part in why we’re doing it. Hopefully see you there!

“We rise by lifting others.” - Robert Ingersoll I thought about this quote standing on the sidelines of the @londonmarathon last weekend as I joined @calmzone to cheer on the runners taking on 26.2 miles for Calm and suicide prevention. I’ve been an ambassador for Calm for 7 years now but it was my first time joining them at the cheer point and it was an incredibly uplifting experience. There really is nothing like marathon day. The energy on those streets, complete strangers rooting for people they’ve never met, handing out sweets, holding up signs. It brings out something in people that we don’t get to see often enough. So many of us are carrying something at the moment. Mental health is a quiet weight a lot of people are living with, and the world isn’t making it any lighter but there’s something about giving your energy entirely to someone else’s moment that can gently pull you out of your own head. And while cheering for others can help lift you up there’s also support available if you’re going through it, Calm have a free support and an app, available for you 365 days a year. To every person who ran you’re extraordinary. And to our Calm runners especially, thank you. There’s always someone out there cheering for you. Even if you can’t hear them yet. #LondonMarathon #MentalHealth #CalmZone

“I wrote Big Boys about one friend in particular who should be here and should be an amazing writer. I really miss writing about him.” Our incredible ambassador @jackdaverooke accepting the award for Writer: Comedy BAFTA for Big Boys this weekend. Jack tells the story of his friend so beautifully. It’s a story of love and grief and connection. We need this stuff, these stories, now more than ever. And we need more people telling these stories. From all walks of life. Jack wouldn’t have been able to tell this story - which has helped so many people and changed the conversation around suicide prevention - without the arts and funding. Stories like Big Boys ARE suicide prevention and we couldn’t do the work we do without them 👏 We love you Jack 💚 🎥 Credit: @bafta
