“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”
•
I am Nikki Callison and my family has raised beef cattle for generations. I have four brothers and we grew up helping my parents on their ranch. We all worked to care for the cattle and horses and spent hot summer afternoons swimming in a horse pond with our mule, Samuel.
•
After high school, I went to college in Texas. I completed a BA in History and taught school for 10 years. I remember the afternoon I was in Dallas and realized I missed the peace of the ranch. I moved back to Oklahoma and two weeks later met my husband Roger.
While dating we decided that we wanted our life together to be ranching, just as it had been for both of us growing up.
•
We bought a home and acreage and were married a year and a half when we adopted our children, three precious little souls ages 4, 2 1/2, and 16 months.
•
Roger and I have spent over 20 years together raising our kids and our cattle.
•
Three years ago, I saw the growing desire for families to buy their beef direct from the ranch. Many families want to know where their beef comes from and how it was raised.
My grandparents, Ray and Lois Tucker, sold their “Rancher’s Beef” direct to families in the 1970’s. We carry on this family heritage by selling and shipping our ranch-raised, dry-aged beef right from the ranch to doorsteps across the USA.

Sharing what we do daily is a joy. I love the ranching lifestyle and anything that has to do with riding a horse. When I’m not riding or working, you may find me running the ranch roads. I am a member of the running group Team Beef Oklahoma. I am also the Oklahoma Cattlewomen’s South Central Director and I have recently been elected to the Oklahoma Beef Council. It is a privilege to serve.

Roger and I steward the land and manage our cattle herd with quality and sustainability in mind. We produce an amazing product and it is an honor to feed your family beef right from the ranch.

Making babies in the ranch….
It starts with turning out the bulls with the cows! The bulls stay together until taken to their individual pastures in May❤️
Belmont is our big bull with the ring in his nose. He is our favorite and reminds the kids of Ferdinand. Belmont has a ring because he used to be a show bull. When we semen tested all the bulls, Belmont was too big for the chute so we had to hall him to the vet’s office for one on one care😉😉😉

Learning to be a good man; one little lesson at a time. From feeding cattle to a morning shave to baiting a hook and saying prayers, Pop’s love and wisdom is being poured out for this eager little boy❤️❤️❤️ A year ago we couldn’t imagine becoming parents again in our 50’s. Now we can’t imagine missing out on the daily joys🙌 #grandfamily #callisonranch #raisingkids #grandparent #shave
Our steers spend six months grazing on land owned by The Nature Conservancy — here’s why that matters…
When managed right, cattle grazing (just as the buffalo did) actually helps these grasslands thrive: it stimulates new growth, cycles nutrients back into the soil, and keeps invasive species in check.
In return, our steers get to do what cattle were built to do — roam, graze diverse native forages, and grow beef on some of the healthiest land in the country.
It’s a partnership that’s good for the cattle, good for the land, and good for the beef that ends up on your plate.

Our grandsons went shopping for Angus bulls with Roger (their Pop)
I love watching the boys not only soaking in the conversation between Roger and the bull breeder, but even copying their Pop’s mannerisms🥰🥰
These trips are some of our favorites. Roger has a sharp eye for cattle, and watching him work through a pen of bulls — checking structure, studying EPDs, asking the right questions — is exactly the kind of thing the boys pick up on without even realizing it.
The genetics we bring home shape our herd for years, so we don’t take these decisions lightly. Solid phenotype, good disposition, numbers that match what our cows need. It all matters.
Good day. Good bulls. Good company.

Middle-aged ranch moms still know how to bring it… I can’t dance, but I’m not above embarrassing myself if my favorite rancher gals will do it to right along with me. ♥️😜 Lucky to call these ladies friends even if we all live in different parts of the country and have very different lives. @m5entrepreneurs brought us together and kindred spirits keep us close - love you gals - knew I could count on you in a matter of hours to jump in a trend! 🥰

I love people! And my favorite people are children😊 I’ve always loved kids… I helped with my youngest brothers, taught elementary school in Texas and now raising our grandkids. I get why Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me.”
A highlight of this week at CattleCon was meeting little Marion. What a ray of sunshine!☀️Marion had found one of the @cortevapastures Lucky Boxes and won a little plush cow to take home to Kentucky.
I was asked in an interview this week: “What gives you hope in the Cattle Industry?” Answer: The Next Generation!
I met and was inspired by so many young people from Marion from Kentucky who loves her stuffed cow to Joe from Oklahoma State who plans to spend the summer lobbying for ranchers in Washington DC and someday take over his family’s cattle ranch.
The future of American beef is in capable hands and we can all be thankful when we gather our families around the table.
