UP NEXT ~ newly ensconced in the lofted space above Forîn on Coral St; Them Local launches a series of hyperlocal, daytime sonic soirées, the first of which is being hosted by frequent CALLA DISCS collaborator DJ Papaya on Saturday, May 2nd. Papaya, who is behind fav Philly parties Spindrift and Chrysalis, always brings the heat — flitting between highly pressurized bass music and environmental ambient with ease and panache. Also on the bill, RP Coast escapes from the studio at Club Tennis for a live set — expect 80bpm head nodders, ambient drift, and 21st century balladry. Maestro of sub bass Shai FM rounds out the proceedings with a glimpse into the downtempo sounds that have been inspiring some of his more recent productions.
