The Library is now accepting applications for the Author in Residence position. This residency is all about celebrating the joy of reading, exploring the craft of writing, and connecting with the community.
As Author in Residence, you’ll mentor writers, review manuscripts, and share insights on writing and publishing. The application deadline is June 18.

The Library is now accepting applications for the Children’s Illustrator in Residence position at Central Library for Fall 2026.
This residency celebrates the impact of children’s art in storytelling and Calgary’s creative community, while giving artists the chance to connect with young readers, educators, and families through hands-on experiences, live demonstrations, and creative exploration.
