Welcome 2025/26 Fellow Caleb Thomas! I am a 24-year-old queer Mexican-American performance artist from San Diego, California, now based in Brooklyn, New York. My work is rooted in queer love and explores emotion and perspective through the lenses of relationships, culture, and religion. With over 13 years of dedication to my craft and a BFA in Modern Dance, I continue to deepen my understanding of what it means to create while staying grounded in my identity as a performer. Though trained in various dance genres, my recent research over the past five years has focused on vogue femme and ballroom culture, exploring their connections to contemporary movement practices. This exploration has shaped the way I think about form, history, and embodiment in performance. Ultimately, my goal is to expand beyond the physical body to find new ways of communicating with audiences, emotionally, spiritually, and viscerally.
