I made it to New York with my first film director ever from 3 years ago to watch what we made on a big screen in downtown Manhattan. I made a friend and grew a friendship along the way. The last 6 months has God written all over it. Don’t credit Ben or I, we just follow the wind and our hearts. We haven't given up either, even when the flowers in our garden are leaning a bit. The rain will come eventually, we always have faith in that. I love you, New York and New Jersey. I want to see you again soon.

To be sincere this morning, nobody knows how many times in the last 3 years I talked to God (and to myself when I didn't claim a religion) whether it was in the evening, morning, or even 2:00am saying, "Am I supposed to do this?" "Do you want me to give up on acting and writing?" "Lord, send a sign if I need to quit." "God, I'm so discouraged. Take it away from me if I'm not supposed to do this."
Then, the last 6 months happened.
This is not a brag, this is an encouragement to people that are pursuing the career they love without seeing any results. This is proof that fruits of your patience and labor will appear, just keeping going, I beg you.

Last night I had the privilege of watching my former university scenic instructor play original and cover songs publicly. The song he's playing here is an original one that he wrote (I'm pretty sure).
A loving and sensitive human that has a wonderfully unique voice. I always enjoyed working and laughing with him. He's also a tremendous actor, if I may add. He has a new EP coming out. Streetcar Named Desire
I think this is the first year since being 18 that I wasn't in at least 2 plays in a year span. I was reminded of the nerves, dreams, rehearsing lines, and standing in my room by myself finding somebody through me. I love a heavy play like this. I love this story. I'm not afraid of dark stories. They make my teeth grit. I loved playing the sensitive, heartbreaking, fun, sad, complex, hurt, and purpose-searching Harold Mitchell. I don't audition for theatre as much anymore, however going back to my roots fulfilled something in my gut and soul. It's time to get the lights and tripod back out for commercial, short film, movie, and print auditions though! Speaking of this, I haven't booked a project with my talent agency yet, but I've received more callbacks in the last 3 months than I have since I started auditioning with them. Blessing. God's putting me in front of the exact people I'm supposed to be in front of. I trust him and I'm patient with him. I thank him for taking me just this far alone. I get emotional thinking about a 20 year old Caleb wondering what the hell he's doing with his life. You're doing exactly what you love and worked for, young man. It's not a sin to feel competitive about your passion. I love life. I love you. I love God.
