Food tour and exploring Jalatlaco - Oaxaca, Mexico which is chock full of murals and God's. The food tour was a mixed bag. I liked learning about atole, a pre-hispanic drink made with ground corn flour with things like cinnamon, sugar cane, vanilla, fruits, almond etc to create different flavors. Trying different produce was cool as well. There's mango that tastes like pineapple and mango, sapote, mamey and the god forsaken devil stick. Not sure what is actially called but it's a spice stick that makes your mouth feel like it's foaming and numbing and filled with salt and demons. It was horrible. There was also bugs and meats I would rather not think about. Oh and I enjoyed the ancestral drink with corn and cacao and cacao flower which makes this sludge that floats on top but tastes a little marshmallowy ...tejate...drink of the Gods.

Hierve el Agua. If we had one more day in Oaxaca I'd go back here. The views from within the mineral pools...breathtaking.

Hierve el Agua - one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. The hike was a bit brutal in the heat but absolutely gorgeous. Knowing there was cold mineral pools at the end kept me motivated.
