I’ll admit, I was a little nervous — working with intricate edible mediums in summer heat and humidity is no joke! It takes a lot of control, planning, and experience to make sure every delicate detail stays in place by cake time. So glad it all came together beautifully according to the photo and the feedback 😊

Textured cakes are the new love. Really enjoy creating different surfaces on one cake using buttercream, palette knives, stencils and edibles.
The decoration was inspired right at the spot by @horrobinandhodge , thank you for providing those florals for the cake. It was fun to decorate with branches and apples rather than classic flowers.

First of all, I have nothing against condensed milk buttercream… especially with a little vanilla custard mixed into it 🤍
But this conversation really made me think about how fast the cake decorating industry has become.
There are definitely quicker ways to make cakes these days, and I understand why many businesses choose that path. But I still believe people can taste when something was made with knowledge, patience and really good ingredients.
The balance of flavour, the texture, the tiny details… they all matter.
It’s not always the easiest way to run a cake business, but hearing “this was the best cake we’ve ever had” makes every extra hour worth it.
