Donald Trump arrived in the early afternoon to visit Dearborns new Ford Headquarters and give a speech to the Detroit Economic Club. This visit was met with much disdain from Michiganders and Detroitās alike. While Trump stood crooked at his podium, spouting nonsense regarding tariffs, the automobile industry, and Joe Biden, over 200 people stood outside the building in protest of his arrival.
By the time I arrived, police had pre-barricaded the area so no cars could access the roads leading into the building. Many of the officers stayed cordial with the protestors, politely asking them to stay closer to the sidewalk so cars could continue to use the main road. People were spread across the four corners of the intersection into various groups. One corner was filled with signs protesting US prescience in Iran, and our relationship with Israel.
Passing cars were in support of the protest, many honking their horns as they drove past. As the protest grew larger, people began handing out signs for people without one, water, and snacks. One person was even giving out hand warmers as it was in the low 20Ā°s that day.
The pictures I have included are some of my favorite I have taken. It is important to document what is currently happening in this Country, and my goal is to continue to do so.
