A lovely 12 days at home between trips. Play, visit, ground, love, family, friends, spring time in the valley 🌷 Unpack, recharge, re pack. Time between travel is so sweet these days ❤️ Now it's back on road, skis are packed up and we are headed North. I've got all the feels as I head back to Alaska. It's a magical place, a powerful place. A place that has a special home in my heart.. excited for the adventure, excited to re connect and excited to get amongst it in an entirely new way 💫

A few of my favorite memories from a glorious mountain walkabout ❤️ This trip was special, different than any film trip I had done before. It was harder than I had expected and it tested me. Day 2 of our traverse was the biggest day of ski touring I have ever done in my life. Packs were heavy, bushwhacking was thick, more walking than skiing most days. The wind was relentless and the mountains we passed through were rugged. I was blown away with how much I came to love the challenge. It was a bit of a beat down. Norway definitely made us work for it. Navigating rock gardens in ski boots, spicy lake crossings, refueling on noodles and sugar. I loved how every evening I felt so satisfied. I knew I had given each day everything I had. Tired body, calm mind. It's hard to describe the peace that came when we walked into these beautiful backcountry huts finally getting a break from the elements. What a feeling to finally take off the ski boots after 12 hours feeling immense gratitude for my body and where it has brought me. No service, no Instagram, no news..just good company, a hot wood stove and another canned meal. So appreciative for a warm bed and a pillow to rest my tired head. Life was simple and I loved every minute of it ❤️

That’s a wrap on our Norway adventure! 5 days, 50+ miles, 25k of vertical gain and a lot of weight on the back. Couldn’t imagine doing it with a better group of people. Big thanks to @visitalesund @uteguiden and @hoteluniongeiranger #returnoftheturn

When @marcuscaston calls you up to join in on a Return of the Turn episode in Norway ya gotta say yes :) Hut link ups, corn skiing, bushwhacking, gorgeous views, walking in ski boots... SO MUCH WALKING. Questionable lake crossings, rock scrambles, wind, sun, canned food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Insane mountains, massive days and lovely people...full value in every way. Norway is rugged. You always have to work for it but luckily it's always worth it here. Thanks for one hell of a trip boys, this one I won't soon forget ❤️

spring time in the shire ❤️ Time at home between trips is feeling mighty fine these days. I've been spending a lot of time this winter settling in. Settling in to a new normal. Learning to be. Learning to rest. Learning to find peace in the in between. Learning to enjoy the quiet moments between the beautiful extremes. Settling in to new routines, a new place, new dreams. Through this process I have been finding the joy again, finding the fire, the inspiration. It's amazing how goals, dreams and direction can help us lock in and remind us of who we are. The last couple of weeks we're focused on getting the mind, body soul ready for spring and all the comes with it. Longer days, bigger missions. Sunshine, sweet, sweet sunshine. I'm grateful for the community I'm building in NH, grateful for more time with my loved ones. Grateful for the balance I'm finding. Excited to be headed off on another adventure today with the body and mind feeling rejuvenated and ready to rock ❤️ next stop Norway with the ROTT boys 💫 @blizzard_tecnica

A lovely lil Wednesday up on the ole rockpile 🌬️ It ain't always glamorous but I love this backyard of mine. I love that you never know what you are going to get up there. I love that it's always full value, it's always an adventure. These mountains feel good to me and I just like being in them. They feel old and wise and maternal. I love the bushwhacking, manky skin tracks and variable snow. I love returning to silly missions and walking in the mountains just to walk in the mountains. I love the joy that a day like this brings me. And... if you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball...

It always seems to come back to freedom for me. Whether I'm feeling it, craving it, chasing it, thinking about it, working towards it. There are so many different flavors of freedom. Wind in your hair freedom. Like motorcycles and skiing fast. Freedom from the pressures and expectations of the world. Freedom in learning to be myself - no masking, no pretending - that feels free. Freedom in breaking the mold. Freedom through discipline and commitment. Freedom through being pain free. Freedom through falling in love and feeling safe. Freedom from my mind - freedom that comes from trusting myself. Freedom in believing in myself. So many types of freedom to feeeel 💕
