A Claustrofobia é uma das bandas mais consistentes e respeitadas do metal brasileiro quando o assunto é agressividade, autenticidade e longevidade. Formada em São Paulo no início dos anos 90, o grupo construiu sua identidade dentro do thrash metal com fortes influências do hardcore e do death metal, criando um som direto, pesado e sem concessões.
Ao longo da carreira, a banda se destacou não só pela sonoridade brutal, mas também pela postura independente e pela conexão com a cena underground. Enquanto muitas bandas buscavam suavizar o som para alcançar mercados maiores, o Claustrofobia seguiu na contramão, mantendo a essência crua e combativa do metal extremo. Isso rendeu à banda reconhecimento internacional, com turnês fora do Brasil e respeito de fãs e músicos ao redor do mundo.
As letras são outro ponto forte: abordam temas sociais, políticos e existenciais, muitas vezes refletindo a realidade urbana brasileira, com críticas afiadas e uma visão sem romantização. Musicalmente, os riffs são rápidos e cortantes, a bateria é intensa e precisa, e os vocais carregam uma agressividade que se tornou marca registrada.
Um momento importante na trajetória da banda foi o lançamento do álbum Peste, que consolidou ainda mais sua maturidade sonora, mostrando uma produção mais refinada sem perder a brutalidade característica. What a great show in Tucson, AZ last Saturday.
A long and exhausting round trip, but absolutely worth it, face to face with real fans, friends, and solid people. The vibe was undeniable.
Huge respect to Scott Heller (Hell One Productions) and Travis Kolasinski (Creepsville Carnival) for making this show happen.
