This song was the one that sparked my idea to start this series!
Like everyone else a few months back, after discovering this tune it was on repeat almost daily. And one day I got curious what would happen if I cut off the last bit of each vocal line, and here we are 😂🤪

Ive always loved and appreciated Billie and @finneas songwriting, and felt there a sort of jazz influence in their melodies. So it was fun to see what could come out of creating a more sultry vibe behind one of her tunes as opposed to the upbeat original.

As im sure we’ve all seen, theres a million covers of drummers playing this drum part already (which is admittedly very cool). But since the idea behind this series is to switch stuff up, I thought id take a spin metrically modulating this one and this is what came out!

In Honor of Justin headlining Coachella the next couple of weeks, I thought it’d be fun to put a spin on one of his latest hits!

I could probably write a book on everything I felt, heard, and saw during these past few weeks in India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. But in short, this trip was one of the craziest and most beautiful experiences of my life.
Still blows my mind of where playing drums has allowed me to go, and it’s truly awesome that I got to share this adventure with my Dad!
Thanks to everyone who helped make this trip so great, and I hope to be back very soon.

Here’s a bit of a different twist on one of my favorite songs right now!
After spending some time in NYC over the holiday and hearing killer groups like @saha_gnawa with @flymyspcshp as well as listening to artists like @karimziad66 back in college, I was inspired to do this Gnawa style flip.

When I first heard this tune I originally interpreted the opening synth vamp was in 3/4 and not 12/8 🙃
So I thought it’d be a fun experiment to flesh out the whole tune in that feel!

I am excited to finally release the 1st video in a new IG series I am starting this year!
After spending many years in the pop world and now moving further into jazz fusion/world music, I wanted to find a fun way to bring those parts of my musical life together.
