I am incredibly proud to have had the privilege of being one of the 15 women in our 29 person delegation that represented Local 600 at the 2025 IATSE Quadrennial Convention this past week. I had the opportunity to meet delegates from across the US and Canada and to learn about their work and unique struggles as well as the commonalities that bind us all. In the face of potential disaster, evacuations and lock downs delegates rose to the occasion to support one another and it was proven that as Union kin, we truly are a family - Ohana. Mahalo to @iatselocal665 for being incredible hosts and to my Local 600 brothers, sisters and kin for giving me the opportunity to serve our local and union.
I have had the absolute privilege of spending the past few weeks on the road working with the Harris/Walz campaign. Along our journey, I've met some wonderful people, both on the trail with us and local to the cities we visited. I've gotten to learn about some great candidates running in local races, checked out some delicious eateries and fun museums, and even landed in a tourist trap or two. Most significantly, though, I was struck by the incredible love, kindness and hope that radiated from the folks that we got to spend time with along the way, and by the passion and enthusiasm that they have for working to move their communities and our country towards a better future.
It's no secret that I believe that Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are the candidates that will help us realize that ambition. Vice President Harris is intelligent, thoughtful and, most importantly, she really cares about improving the lives of everyday American people.
So many of us have put so much hard work into helping their campaign. But we like hard work. (Hard work is good work...) Whether it's been canvassing in swing states or speaking with friends and family to encourage them to vote blue, thank you for every one of these acts, and thank you for your passion, enthusiasm, love, kindness, and hope. I truly believe Kamala Harris is the President that we all deserve.
Now get out there and vote!
