They mix TECHNOLOGY with HUMAN DATA and actively shapes our culture, our BEHAVIOUR, and our institutions. A calculator does math, that’s it. Generative AI cosplays doctors, therapists, lovers, and friends. It makes people addicted. It hallucinates. 🚨PLEASE don’t give your DNA away to COMMERCIAL DNA TESTING COMPANIES! It might sound fun… but the risks are HUGE compared to the tiny “output” you get. Insurance companies could use your DNA against you. That’s what we call genetic discrimination! 2. Your genetic code can be sold like a business asset. Plus data leaks could happen.�3. You’re trading your entire identity for a report you’ll probably never read again. Or what I call, fun-for-data! Not worth it - ONLY if you really need to use the network to find someone! Then, it could be! If you really want one, check for a provider with STRONG privacy protections first, OR get into a medical facility where a health law protection would apply. Algorithms don’t know the real world, but they’re still being used to make life-altering decisions about your life: whether you get a job, whether you get a loan from the bank, whether you get arrested or stopped at the airport. To train most algorithms, you need to clean the data, remove outliers, and simplify the data as much as you can — and that removal of complexity, or what we can call the epistemological flattening of complexity, is an epistemic violence. B Because you assert violence through knowledge and the categorization of knowledge. You remove the real complexity of the world to create a make-believe world where ideology, power, and culture don’t exist. But that yes, an algorithm can understand.
