Babes in the Wood Kickstarter arrived. @worldchampgameco basically just told every other developer to step their game up. While the whole package is top notch, the real magic is behind the cover (though I’m a sucker for pretty much anything that uses Powered by the Apocalypse). The childish playfulness and charm is carried all the way through the book, with extra emphasis on the wonderful character sheets. Can’t wait to get this one to the table.

Wow. I can’t stress enough how impressed I am with #mausritter from @isaacwilliams and @gamesomnivorous . This is a very good, very succinct system (admittedly and lovingly put together from other great systems) in a lovely package. I’m actually a little annoyed that the same guy wrote, designed, and illustrated the whole thing. Way to make the rest of us look like slackers.

While I’m sure there is a lot of personal preference involved, I found the book to be laid out logically and exactly how I would want to experience the rules (hey, this is an important thing for those of us who read more RPGs than actually play them). Nice art is interspersed throughout the book and is a great compliment to the setting.

Oh, did I mention that the box set is chock-effing-full of awesome extras? Re-writable inventory tiles, pad full of character sheets, Mausritter marker, rules reference sheet, GM screen, and a full adventure with matching inventory tiles.

Maybe I’m just a sucker for mouse-related RPGs. I mean, I still love my original Mouse Guard box set from Burning Wheel, but this Mausritter one really takes the (cheese) cake.

Don’t know why it’s taken me this long to crack open Troika!. This is a first edition with art from the amazing (and currently unlinkable) Dirk Detweiler Leichty. Ever since picking up Silent Titans, I’ve been a huge fan of his, as well as random character creation which you can find in both books. Lots of fun stuff to dig through in this “science-fantasy” setting.
