🍜 Tonkotsu Ramen 🍜 Ramen x Black Ice Scent "what the hell is a black ice scent?" ok so this is my first non-fruity scent, which is a good excuse to draw something savoury. It basically kinda smells like cologne or perfume! my cousin describes it as "mmmh sexy, delicious" (paraphrasing ily) and that if i didnt make a design with this scent she'd k1ll me xox If this does well, then itll give me good excuse to draw non-sweet dishes! nice to freshen it up a bit yknow? pun unintended hope u guys like it! #ramen #tonkotsuramen #airfreshener #japanesefood #foodart #foodillustration #sendnoods🍜

Why did I take so damn long? Explained >>> Well, ít's technically three reasons but it's basically same as # 1. I wasn't confident enough. Could it have still sold decently, if I made it with my food art skills back in 2019/2020? I guess..? I tend to sit on ideas for minimum 2 years because I get filled with so much doubt and hesitation. I constantly hold myself back of thinking I'm not good enough (yet) or that it absolutely needs to be perfect. Setting aside the financial factor, I always have the mentality of all in or nothing. That I won't get a second shot at this. But in a way, I think it's justified because if it does flop, what do you do with the leftover stock? You end up giving it away as a freebie or heavily discounted to make back the costs. But even if it's 50% discounted, and it's still undesirable for attendees, you're basically cooked. Yes, I've experienced it multiple times and in fact, still do. Mountains of years old crappy stock just sitting there, reminding you that it's just, kinda mid. I always have the battle in my head to ensure that what I make is appealing enough in general, and let's not pretend that we still aren't doing it for profit, because we are. Not necessarily to make bank, but to earn enough to justify your time, effort and money, and to use said earnings to continue exhibiting at events and sell online. Open to thoughts and discussions :) #artistalley #artist #japanesefood #artistproblems #conventions

Food Jet Tags 🍙 nothing new here!! just wanted to take nicer photos of my jet tags. Felt like it wasn't on par with my other product photos on my portfolio, so wanted to retake :) I actually originally planned on making 10 designs for these, but they were super exxy to make so I cut it down to just these 5! These 5 were voted among friends and my discord server. Looking back, I'm glad I didn't bite the bullet and make all 10, because these weren't as popular as I thought it would be. So when someone does buy one, I get a crazy hit of dopamine HAHA. (thank u very much!!) btw i only have one Onigiri jet tag left!! just fyi, if u wanna snag the last one in my on1ine st0re :3 #artistalley #jettags #embroidery #japanesefood #foodart

🍁Maple Story Poca Holders & Create Your Characters 🍁 still gushing over the wholesome interactions I've had about these maple poca holders and sticker sheets! I had relatively low expectations on how well they were gonna do at pompom, especially since it debut at a market and not a con. So I had no idea if I was gonna sell anymore than two a day, that weekend! I'm glad that people are/were really excited to create their OG or dream character back in the mid-late 2000s. I never was allowed to buy NX growing up. I would always go into the cash shop and create my dream look. Wearing cool sunglasses and rocking skinny jeans AND owning a pet? hell yeah. I wanted that Avril Lavigne look and have a pet husky in-game. I was SOO jealous of how everyone looked so cool and unique, rocking colourful hairstyles and wearing anime-esque clothes. Oh man, those were the days.. these r up available on my on1ine stor3 btw :) 🧡 #maplestory #photocard #photocardholder #mmo #henesys

some thoughts I've had over the last few months, which I was able to put into words better, especially after Pom Pom Art Market! tl;dr? My main focus is food art, but my personality is definitely more games. I like drawing both! And I like that people like both! Neat! do you guys like carousels over reels? People do tend to read faster than listening to reels on x2. Some people like to listen/watch reels while multitasking. Carousels are easy to read and flick through. Pros and cons! #artistalley #markets #cons #conventions #artist

do you know your times table? yesterday i quizzed artists at @pompomartmarket to see if they remember their multiplication table. >:) trend inspired by @bufilming @patis_floris BTW, i'm sorry i didn't get to do a second round for every artist who failed the test. I was supposed to, but was ushered back to my table by a volunteer to avoid traffic jams and possible food spills! I am not complaining btw, this was a totally understandable interaction and I promptly went back to my table, and gave out the remaining scrolls to neighbours. sorry for those who missed out! :( <3 #artistalley #maths #market #cinnamonscrolls #dessert

Make Your Own Fridge Magnets! I had this idea back in 2021, during the time people were creating link charms. I thought, well why don't I draw link charms, but appetizer, main and dessert? Didn't turn out well, but funnily enough that idea kickstarted my transition from fanart to food art, believe it or not. But after a few months, I thought, what if I drew like a lunch tray? Little did I know, I was basically thinking of Teishoku (Japanese Set Meals) but didn't know it had a name. I drew so many drafts but I was like, this rendering is.. just SO bad. I'll try again next time. Why did I choose wood over acrylic for the material? Acrylic is lighter weight and cheaper, and therefore would make shipping infinitely cheaper too. It was a triple whammy basically, right? My reasoning: 1. Wood doesn't have a shine/reflection that acrylic does. Keeping it matte helps show all the details of the food magnets (epsecially when it's so small!) 2. I felt wood was more appropriate in theme on how some Japanese food are served in wooden trays, bowls or plates. Don't get me wrong, Japanese meals are commonly served on ceramics. But I also think since a lot of Japanese architecture is still made out of wood, this adds to the Japanese aesthetic (right?). So yeah, is it worth it? For me, hell yes. I love this texture, finish and the combination of the wooden food magnets on a wooden tray. Will it be worth it to others? Well, I'll see you this weekend at @pompomartmarket and you judge it yourself in person. :)) Thank you for all of the support! I appreciate it if you share this post as well <3 #artistalley #teishoku #japanese #japanesefood #magnets
