Started sculpting this year and really loved it. This is the life size sculpture I did of the lovely @violettaartmodeling this past semester. I was such a great experience and I learned so much from the amazing @heather.personett
One of my favorite experiences studying at the @newyorkacademyofart was participating in the Met copyist program. This is my painting of Peter Paul Rubens Study of Two Heads.
I had the pleasure of assisting the talented @korbynrc for @newyorkacademyofart Summer Undergraduate Residency Program June 2025 sculpting class. Such a joy to spend time with such a talented group of artists!
Celebrated last night at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the spring copiest program with my fellow classmates. Such beautiful work by everyone who participated. #metcopyist
One of the most memorable experiences I’ve had since moving to NYC to get my MFA in Painting at the New York Academy of Art is participating in the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Copiest Program. It was a 16-week class at the academy that participates in the Museum’s oldest running program. Taught by the amazing Zane York, it was a deep dive into this incredible resource for art & culture, the paintings it holds and what we can learn about painting technique by looking at these works.
The first 8 weeks were filled with drawing from the works in the Museum, research and study. The second 8 weeks I painted in front of a Peter Paul Rubens masterpiece. It was like apprenticing with Rubens one-on-one. Painting is typically a solo sport done in isolation and painting in the middle of a museum was an experience in and of itself.
Thank you to the @metmuseum and the @newyorkacademyof art for supporting artists in this experience. Thank you @zane.york for your invaluable guidance. Thank you to all the Museum patrons for your words of encouragement along the way. It is an experience I will treasure forever. #metcopyist
Today was my second day painting as part of the @metmuseum copyist program. I’m copying A Study of Two Heads by Peter Paul Rubens. It’s such an great experience to paint in such an amazing museum directly in front of a work from a master painter. #metcopyist #metcopyistprogam
Making an effort to share more of my art practice and life here in NYC. This is what is currently on my easel… this is based on a drawing I did way back in 2021. It’s a bit of an experiment. We will see where it goes.
