Unearthed some pretty cool #simpsons artwork recently. Apparently artists used old Disney reference sheets in order to get used to drawing these characters dynamically. I found this one of #bartsimpson based on the #mickeymouse cartoon, “The Brave Little Tailor” as a way to test out his expressions and posing… Oh this is also an #aprilfools joke so I could practice style matching, but hopefully I had you for a sec!

HAPPY #mar10day Wahoo!! This post is a little different this year as it’s my first reel animatic (see what I did there)! Based on the Mickey & the Beanstalk scene from the 1947 Disney Film, Fun & Fancy Free, it sees Mario, in the place of Mickey Mouse, attempting to free his friends from the clutches of Bowser, my Willie the Giant stand in, with the Princess lulling him to sleep. The “My Favorite Dream” song is an underrated Disney classic, and I’m glad I get to bring it new life in this love letter to both Mario & Mickey Mouse (my two favs). I can’t say animatics will be a regular thing on this page, but I’m proud of myself for actually posting one! Maybe there will be a scene like this in the new Super Mario Galaxy Movie, who knows! #Supermario #mickeymouse #animatic #disney

The essentials of Valentines Day: Flowers, Chocolate, and Line Art of a Minnie Mouse Character Page. Y’know, for the longest time, I had overlooked Mickey’s better half, mainly because that’s all she was depicted as at one point. It was only a few years ago however where I finally understood the appeal of the character. The love I felt for Mickey Mouse, his kindness, his courage, his simplicity, were the same feelings girls had for Minnie Mouse, as she’s Mickey’s perfect equal. Doing Minnie’s page was really interesting since I don’t draw Minnie too often. She has a lot of the same design principles as Mickey, whom I had done previously, so I used him as a basis and refined where I could. With Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy posted, I should have Donald done by the summer! #minniemouse #rubberhose #1930s #cuphead #mickeymouse

I love it when my #firstpost of the new year is a redesign of an old character. Reintroducing Blister Bunny! Life has been tough for ol’ Blister. What’s a rabbit to do when he knows everything about flying but is afraid of heights?? In Blister’s case, he chose the enriching profession to share his knowledge as a teacher…’s assistant. He maybe stuck in a demeaning job with a boss that doesn’t listen to him and a class that doesn’t respect him (and the stewardess uniform doesn’t help), but he does have his pal & protege Zeke, to pull him out of his rut and help him reclaim his lost honor. Though they can butt heads over techique & ideology, they are a dynamic duo that are a force to be reckoned with, whether in the sky or the classroom! I’ve been toying with Blister’s (then Buster) redesign since the beginning of 2025 as part of my effort to redesign the Zeke cast and flesh them out better. Blister is a character very close to my heart as with every iteration, I always put a lot of myself in him. Blister is someone who is passionate about his chosen field but is too afraid to push past his self imposed limitations, a struggle I’m sure everyone can relate to. I’m excited to see what stories I can tell with him, now that I finally know what this little unlucky rabbit looks like! #1930s #rubberhose #characterdesign #cuphead

The CABToons #2025 #artvsartist is here and boy I forgot how much great art I made this year!! Even through life’s rough patches, not only did I release some of my best work (personally speaking), but I produced a lot more art than I thought I would! By dividing my output from character design work for my page, personal work for my portfolio, and the many MANY Toon Doods comics, I got a lot more accomplished than I tend to give myself credit for! I really felt my skills getting tighter, sharper, and more focused with all the new projects I undertook. There’s so many projects this year that I’m immensely proud of, and far more I’m excited to create! I hope to pick up my pace posting in 2026 as well as experiment with different forms of content to branch out creatively and put more of me out there! As always, I wanna thank all my followers, both old and new! Getting up to some Nautical Nonsense today Y’know, for as much as I love #spongebob, both as a character & the show, he has had very little presence on my page, so here is my attempt to remedy that! For my first attempt, I’m pretty pleased with it! I’ve always been drawn to the sillier, less polished season 1 designs of the show so I tried to capture a bit of that energy here, however I do think that the series is always doing something fun and unique, especially with its character designs and expression work, so id love to play with that more in the future, whenever I find some time!
