HAWKFISH!! Still one of the sickest looking fish on the planet in a small package! Fun fact: they can live almost an hour out of the water. 👀 Since these fish are resident species and very slow growing, many heavily frequented spots only hold small ones as they have been mostly fished out. Though the small fillets you get off of them are good eating, I’ve put these guys on my 100% C&R list to try and keep some of the better sized ones on my favorite spots. (We have so many “food fish” options to choose from..)

On a trophy roll! 🙌🔥🏆😁 This is one of the Biggest Cabrilla (Leopard Grouper) I’ve ever landed!! He hit towards the end of the morning when I had given up hope of any fish and was about to call it a day…Man was I SURPRISED!! He took the @ims_lures Fury 200 in Brown/Gold color.

This 30 second video represents everything coming together perfectly at the same time! Hours/days/weeks of endless casting on multiple beaches, scouting with the drone, failed casts, and many “vegan” fish that wouldn’t touch lures….FINALLY!! Get one to take the lure, and also film it on the drone! I’m not sure I could forgive myself if I had messed it up right at the end with the 15 LB line..😂🙌
But the story had a happy ending! 😁🔥🔥🔥

Still blown away by this catch! 🙌 Definitely wouldn’t have targeted this fish on 15# line! But my motto has always been “hook the fish first, figure out how to land him later!” After about 30 mins of carefully fighting this guy and working all the angles to keep him out of the rocks, I was able to land him through the waves and keep him hooked all the way to the beach!💪😁🔥🔥
