THE GREAT AUK
extinct since 1844
Once found across the North Atlantic, the Great Auk was hunted to extinction for its feathers, meat, fat, and eggs. Flightless and vulnerable on land, it became a symbol of how quickly abundance can vanish.
An excerpt from today’s performance of The Extinction Series at Mise-en Place.
Join us tomorrow, May 11 at Alvin Ailey Dance Studio at 7pm, featuring choreography by Jordan Morley and fashion by Helena Wang. Free and open to the public.

SOCIETY PARAKEET
extinct since c. 1777
Native to the island of Réunion, the Society Parakeet disappeared following deforestation, hunting, and the introduction of invasive species after colonization. Like so many extinct animals, it vanished quietly — before much of the world even had the chance to understand it.
An excerpt from last night’s performance of The Extinction Series at South Oxford Space, featuring choreography by Jordan Morley and fashion by Helena Wang.
Join us tomorrow, May 10 at Mise-en Place at 7pm for the next performance in the series. Free and open to the public.

Adam performs across the second half of the run, bringing these musical obituaries into public space — works that ask us to listen, remember, and bear witness.

THE CURIOUS CASE
OF DR. JEKYLL & MR. HYDE
a Curiosity Cabinet production
Sheen Center for Thought & Culture
June 10 | 11 | 12 | 13
Tickets available May 1 |
Footage from the 1920 silent film Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, starring John Barrymore, whose transformation remains one of cinema’s most unsettling early portraits of the divided self. Stevenson’s tale has been adapted again and again across film, theater, radio, and television—each version returning to the same question: what happens when the monster is not outside us, but within?
