Protest comes in many forms- sometimes it’s loud, sometimes it’s a whole lot of people all at once, and sometimes it’s quietly started with shiny fabrics in the middle of the night because you’re laying awake just worrying. I still have a lot more to do on this, but I’ll have more midnight worrying to do (as we all will) so stay tuned!

Thursday, 12/4 from 5pm - 7pm, we are so excited to be hosting a ‘party in the back’ pop-up with @caassey !! you may have seen her around the shop, as she’s been making cappuccinos & helping in the studio, but she’s also an incredible ceramic artist and has made some beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces for the shop!!

It feels important to share that I’ve been taking a lot of time to reevaluate my relationship with myself as a maker.
Things became a whirlwind of excitement for me when we were all diving into social media to look for connection, reassurance, and inspiration during 2020, I spent a lot of time cultivating my work and at the same time crafting posts and stories to share that with you all but there was a shift for me when I started to feel like my ideas weren’t coming fast enough to create interesting content and reels were replacing photos as the algorithm favorite.
It started to feel like I was turning myself inside out. And alongside some life stuff (maybe I’ll overshare later) it all became more than I could do.
I’m trying to remedy the sadness and guilt I’ve felt for the last few years by slowly starting projects again and redefining what it means for my brain to put myself on the social media stage as a solitary performer ❤️

I’m beyond honored to have been chosen as one of @creativesrebuildny grant recipients! For the next year, I will be creating a body of work as a reaction to the overturning of Roe V Wade, through repurposed catholic iconography, and probably more stuff too but I’m not sure what that is yet. I will still be making mugs though just not quite as many 😉🥂
