OPEN CALL! SUMMER RESIDENCIES 2026 💥🔥⛱️
Open Call for two summer residencies at Ca’Buccari.
Ca’Buccari invites artists, architects, and researchers from all cultural backgrounds and interests to apply for a one-month residency in our generous spaces in Venice.
Applicants can select between two residency periods: July 4 – August 4, or August 10 – September 7. Application deadline midnight June 7, 2026
The only condition for this residency is a sincere interest in the imagination around and inquiry into spatial cultures.
While we encourage a wide range of proposals, particular attention will be given to projects that connect or depart from the contemporary Venetian cultural, environmental, and socio-spatial context. Participation in the residency is free of charge.
Please share and spread the word!
Project proposal and a cover letter with motivation and a short CV as PDF at [email protected] until 07.06.2026
Announcement of the selection of residents 15.06.2026
Please also check link in bio for more detailed info and inquiries.

INSIDE OUTSIDE / WHAT‘S IN A CURTAIN?
Outdoor Installation
07.05—28.11.2026
Thursday-Sunday, 1-7pm and on appointment
We are very excited to present a site-specific outdoor installation by Amsterdam-based creative collective Inside Outside, coinciding with the 61st Venice Art Biennale.
Known for its experimental, unconventional use of materials – from industrial PVC to packaging – the studio transforms spatial conditions through autonomous textile interventions.
At Ca’Buccari, powder blue tulle organza, yellow silk, and bubble wrap define a fleeting, delicate space of transition at the intersection of inside and outside.
Successively hung and rehung throughout a Venetian spring, summer, and autumn, the curtains face inward toward the gallery and outward toward the lagoon — deliriously celebratory and impermanent, shapeshifting with the change of seasons.
Founded by Petra Blaisse, Inside Outside shapes art, architectural, natural, and public spaces, with partners Jana Crepon, Aura Luz Melis, and Peter Niessen.

OPENING WEDNESDAY MAY 6th
YALDA AFSAH / STILL IN THE DARK
Please join us for the opening of Yalda Afsah’s exhibition!
OPENING MAY 6th, 5pm
Exhibition 07.05—28.06.2026
Open Thursday-Sunday, 1-7pm and on appointment
Curated by Maurin Dietrich ‘Still in the Dark’ follows bodies caught in collective rituals that defy categories. In her work, Afsah explores how ritualized forms of violence build communities and how contemporary anxieties materialize within them.
Comprising two films and an installation facing the public park in front of Ca’ Buccari, the exhibition is situated in a city shaped by recurring rhythms—the water tides, the cyclical return of processions and masquerades.
These repetitions have long turned Venice’s public space into a stage; as in Afsah’s work, too, space appears constructed, as though it had arranged itself for its own image.
This exhibition is made possible with the generous support of IfA – Institut für Ausland Beziehungen and the Biehler von Dorrer Stiftung.

Just out and already in! Super proud to be part of the latest publication and second monograph of Experimental Jetset / Statement and Counter-Statement 2 — with an extensive overview of their work of the last eleven years.
‘Beyond the Space of Fragile Geometry’ by Experimental Jetset (2024), was our first public project. A beautiful series of flags in the arcades of Ca’Buccari and an accompanying exhibition. A beautiful interplay of ongoing conversations around Provo, research, and display — interwoven with ‘Don’t Look Now’, Nicolas Roeg’s Venice thriller from 1972, starring Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie, and provocative, mesmerizing quotes from Régis Debray’s manifesto ‘Against Venice’ (1999).
Dear EJ’s thank you so much for your trust, love, and hilarious conversations. EJ x Venice x Provo forever ❤️💜🩷
