How to pick a good junkyard engine:
- crashed cars are actually good, a pristine looking car may have been put in the junkyard for mechanical reasons.
- find the most complete example you can. Something that has already been messed with will definitely be missing something you might need later
- if you can, turn the engine over by hand. If it spins, it wins 🔥
- pop the valve covers off to see how neglected the engine was (or wasn’t 🤞)
- if it’s a Honda or an LS, you’re probably chillin. Just send it with the best one you can find.
