Fur is always a contentious subject but we wanted to s how the power of plants in replacing the need for using animal products. This was originally developed as part of the Inflaxuation series, showing the potential for new applications of flax in fashion, specifically by using regenerative methods. We have some exciting new samples to share soon so stay tuned! #wasteintoworth #biodesign #sustainablefashion #sustainabletextiles #circularfashion #regenerativefashion #regenerativetextiles #circulartextiles

Flax is an incredible plant that is massively underutilised in textiles and materials. It is cultivated as a food and fibre crop. As a cover crop, flax helps to mobilise phosphorus in the soil and add organic matter. Here we have a leather alternative plant skin that is strong, flexible and customisable in colour, size, design and thickness. This was originally developed as part of the Inflaxuation series, showing the potential for new applications of flax in fashion, specifically by using regenerative methods. Keep an eye for new projects and tests we will launch with this material. #wasteintoworth #biodesign #sustainablefashion #sustainabletextiles #circularfashion #regenerativefashion #regenerativetextiles #circulartextiles

Transient Gradients at Base Milano for Milan Design Week 2026 20 to 26 April 2026 at room 2100 Via Bergognone 34, 20144 Milan, Italy. Transient gradients is a mobile installation referencing fleeting moments of hues and texture. The fizzy blue of the ocean when you dive in deep, the glowing orange of molten glass, or the halo of green when the sun rises on trees flushed with leaves. Only when we pause and practice the art of noticing can we experience these hidden, transient gradients. The structure is designed to amplify and exaggerate a forest, a vibrant ecosystem with some of the most intelligent and beautiful processes of nature, usually hidden from the naked eye. Slow down, pause and reflect. Walk around the structure and allow your movement to interact with the gentle breathing of the artwork. Process & Materials Patent-pending biodegradable embellishments made using fungi to clean textile dye wastewater. The structure is made with a mix of deadstock textiles, flax fibres and yarns, algae ‘fur’.

The next generation of sustainable designers are on the way! Summer 2025 we were selected by @climatechangeallchange to work collaboratively at Coppermill Primary School in Walthamstow to host workshops over 6 weeks to teach sustainable textile skills with their Y6 students. Starting from education on fibre production (with an amazing session on spinning with @theonlyseanhenry ) through to the tech packs for a designed garment the students were taking through the whole design process implementing sustainable considerations throughout. Looking at potato buttons, natural inks and fibres from pineapple waste! 📸: @mariakatephotography

Fungi are in a kingdom of their own but are actually closer to animals than plants 🌱 Nature’s decomposers

Embroidery can be used for reinforcing fabrics and garments as well as an amazing tool for mindfulness or ‘moving meditation’ through rhythmic, repetitive motions and being forced to focus on the present moment. Throwback to our embroidery workshop with @airbnb last year.
