Still / Shifting
A night of experimental sound and media,
where textures remain still
and slowly begin to move.
Four artists explore sound, image, vibration,
and material through different states of listening —
from raw physical gestures
to slow-moving ambience
and conceptual media practice.

OPEN SEMINAR · SONIC / SOUND MATTER IN THAI CONTEMPORARY ART & CULTURE
10 DEC 2025 · 19:00
DOI DUM PUNK — ARI SOI 5
An informal, casual evening for deep listening and shared inquiry into how sonic practices move through the layered terrain of Thailand today — from contemporary art circuits to pop music, fashion, underground rave networks, indie and folk lineages, and the many subcultural and subsurface zones shaping the country’s shifting cultural landscape. The seminar opens up sound as material, method, and social gesture, tracing how it travels across galleries, streets, clubs, screens, bodies, and everyday life. Each vibration becomes an opening: what can sound do here, and what futures can it press toward?
The discussion invites an open-floor, relaxed mapping of possible directions for sound-related work, exploring how post-relational thinking might reframe participation, publicness, and ways of being together within both the art scene and broader cultural ecosystems. Rather than fixed narratives or stable identities, the session leans into porous structures — temporary constellations, shared atmospheres, and ways sound can gather, disperse, or reroute people without possessing them. A hearing of resonance, autonomy, and the in-between.

commissioned for @ghost2568ghost festival – dimensional variable
This work is part of Activating Archive: Eating an Apple while Lucid Dreaming 2568 (2025) by Koki Tanaka & Host:2568 Collective under Ghost2568: Bodies Dispossessed, curated by Christina Li. The project explores how memory and history can be reimagined through sound, using archived materials, field recordings, and sound design to highlight the fragments, echoes, and traces that carry stories of the past.
The installation is a four-channel sound environment, 30 minutes looped. It brings together object-oriented sound, chronological sound, scenario-based sound, and participant-interview sound letting listeners experience memory, perception, and the voices of objects in a space where history and imagination meet.
Currently installed at ASVIN from 15 October – 16 November 2025. The piece is still exhibiting, so feel free to stop by, listen, reflect, or just hang out and let the sounds guide you.
Opening hours: 11:00-18:00
Location: ASVIN, Bangkok
