I am the author Sally Page, and I have some exciting news. I have a new book coming out in September - a slightly different genre for me #cosycrime. A Curious Ending was actually the first book I ever wrote. I think it is wonderful that it is now going to be reaching readers - and it is being published by Harper Collins on my birthday! Sept 10th. It was also my late father’s favourite book so it has a special place in my heart. I will tell you more about it soon, but I thought you might like to see the beautiful cover.

I am very happy to now reveal the cover of my new book SIX LITTLE WORDS. It is a story that begins with a few words pinned to a notice board in a café. These words, ‘to be or not to be, and a growing list of apparently random Shakespeare quotes, leads Kate to a community group that encourages her to seek the inspiration that she has lost for her painting. In encouraging a new friend to join the group Kate helps her and others to try something creative, and the book explores why it is we so often put these projects at the bottom of our list. In the group is, Bardy, a retired English teacher, struggling with writer’s block. Will Kate and the others get him writing again? Maybe Kate and Bardy will discover something together?
I don’t want to give too much away at this point, but I can say, for those who like the characters in my books – this one is filled with people who I hope you will fall in love with – as I did. And also, that parts of it made me laugh as I wrote it. I do hope it will make you smile too. Oh, and there is a dog called Noy in it!

Well hailstones might be falling right now but just over an hour ago Sally Page was in signing Six Little Words and she brought the sunshine! (And a bag of amazing goodies and extras for our customers which I will share more about soon!).
It was so lovely to meet Sally, have her sign a huge table full of books and hear more about Six Little Words plus A Curious Ending (her first cosy crime novel) which comes out in September and will be on our website for pre order very soon. Six Little Words is our A U G U S T book club and will be dispatched at the end of July. Patience! It’ll be worth it…
It’s been almost six years of the book club, can you believe it? And every single paperback that has been sent out as part of it has been hand-signed by the Author. It’s extra special when they come into the shop (or we see video snippets of them signing at home!) because this is where our wonderful dreams collide - our bookshop, their books, dreams coming true.
We look forward to September when we meet Sally in person at our literary festival, but also the Book Club zoom in August.

Sally Page is a Sunday Times bestseller whose debut novel was shortlisted for British Book of the Year. Her novels have now sold over 1.2 million copies in the UK and been translated into 30 languages.
