The best kind of work is when we get to travel to new places, immerse ourselves in a new environment, and have the pleasure of meeting new faces as well as familiar ones.
For
@rajangrivermusicfest , I styled
@alenamurang ’s look in mixed prints, emboldened with indigenous motifs that are distinctly Sarawak. Sarawak batik reworked into a body strap and belt, layered over a soft Orang Ulu patterned co-ord set.
We finished the look with red beaded earrings, a mini kabo necklace (thank you
@sharminesyahira ), and a macramé layer with cowrie shells by
@shikinnorazam — all adding depth, texture, and story.
A look shaped through collaboration with amazing people — a touch of Borneo rain, culture, and heritage seen through a contemporary artwear lens.
@simmy_musiq ’s look was styled by
@maizatulyasmin , who also crafted the cowrie shell earrings to echo Alena’s vibe — a look created from Simmy’s mum’s outerwear, with a touch of Borneo.
Speaking of cowrie shells, I couldn’t help but match my own look with the band — wearing my RE:BORN/EO top from last year’s
@borneofashionweek26 collection.
