New wines for us and these ones feel a bit extra special.
Hidden in the hills of southern Tuscany, Marta and Federico at Sassopra work fully hands on, farming organically and keeping things simple in the cellar. Spontaneous fermentations, no added yeasts, gentle handling and only small amounts of sulfur at bottling.
Working mostly with local grapes as Trebbiano, Malvasia, Sangiovese and Ciliegiolo.

Sassopra in Frascati slang comes from âqui sopraâ up there.
Not just physically up in the hills, but up there on the soil, in the vineyards, where everything begins.
Sassopra is Marta and Federico, both from wine families in Frascati in Lazio, now based in southern Tuscany.
