This second chapter in the series explores the coming of age of a child raised in a Ghanaian Christian home. The imagery evokes the nostalgia of childhood vivid colors, sacred objects, and the quiet strength of prayers once whispered for protection. But now, that child stands alone, grown and ready to carry their own weight. The juxtaposition of vibrant religious symbolism and the somber expression of our models reflects the tension of inheritance: the beauty and the burden of being the next generation.

Which one is your favorite?
A common question I ask myself- What does my African look like? More often than not l’m drawn to back to Namibia, where my family’s from. The vast empty space reveals one thing: there was the Sun, there was dust and there was God. Africa is that beginning.
This was my inspiration for these cloth designs. Always grateful for the talk I listened to @ladyskollie how the praying mantis was one of the symbols of God for the Khoisan people.
