It’s been almost three weeks since we lost Mr. Bojangles — and I’m still finding my way through it.
So many of you have reached out, and I’m sorry I haven’t had the strength to respond.
But I’ve read every message. Seen every heart emoji. I’ve felt every bit of your love — the good and the hard — and it’s meant the world.
He was everything. Most of you know that.
Some may not fully understand how deep this grief goes, or how it could completely floor me — and that’s okay. I don’t need to explain. Not everyone needs to understand.
But I also need to move forward. I know he’d want me to keep going. Tail wagging out in the world.
I’ve already been back teaching — online and IRL.
Those classes, especially the online ones and the people in them, have helped carry me through.
Movement truly is healing.
And I’m in NYC now — rainy and grey non stop for almost two weeks, but still the most alive city there is.
And instead of watching the rain from inside the window between studies and work, today I’ve decided to step outside. Into it. Feeling it.
Thank you again for holding me through this. I’ll never forget it.
And again, I’m sorry for the lack of personal response. 💔🐾
