Featured Voice — Oifioda (‘Fioda) Gideon
Oifioda (‘Fioda) Gideon is a Nigerian visual artist and illustrator working at the intersection of art, fashion, and design. A graduate of Visual Art from the University of Lagos, her practice is defined by a bold interplay of joyful colour and exaggerated form, used to evoke emotion and spark introspection.
Working across both traditional and digital techniques, ‘Fioda approaches illustration with a painterly sensibility, creating pieces that exist between reality and imagination. Her work spans fashion illustration, live illustration, book and podcast cover art, wedding stationery, and branding.
She has collaborated with fashion brands such as Kadiju, The Style Infidel Studios, and Ara Lagos, bringing a unique perspective that blends storytelling, identity, and visual expression.
At The Continuum, we explore how art and storytelling shape culture, emotion, and creative identity within the industry.
