Mouth Sounds is a 7" (45rpm) series that focuses on the non-musical creative individual and forces them into a musical way of expressing their chosen form of creativity. Inviting a different artist with each release, and forcing a musical platform of self-expression, showcasing a feeling first.
What does a writer's words sound like? A picture is worth a thousand words, but how many notes is that? What does red sound like? Blue? Green? Who knows, but we're about to find out together.
Side one is dedicated to the artist's voice, while side 2 is the musical expression and interpretation of side one's content by that same artist.
This first Mouth Sounds release of spoken word and musical interpretation is by creative writer, poet, and painter @dream85weaver also known as Pocket.
Recorded direct to 1/4" tape over two days, 20 beers, two hits, and one accidental psilocybin journey later; a writer converts his words into music without a lick of formal education to direct it all.

This release is subtitled “The Tryout Tapes”, trying out sounds from around the world from different places and different times, showcasing that no matter how far away in time and space, there is a universal or shared sound to be discovered.
The front cover shows a color clockwise progression starting at the top left, this represents one rotation around the globe.
The front cover die cut circles and the color progression that shows through from top left to bottom right are a static representation of the color associated with a location from around the globe.
The die cut circle color acts as the motion that gets you from one location to the next through sound/color association.
The first disc’s color is a sum of three locations in relation to the left hemisphere of the globe.
The second disc’s colors are a sum of three locations referring to the right hemisphere.

This release is called “The Tryout Tapes”, mixes of music I’d put on cassettes and listen to in my car, "trying out" sounds from around the world from different places and different times, showcasing that no matter how far away in time and space, there is a universal or shared sound to be discovered.

A Piece of Mumblings is just that, a piece of a larger dialog, a potaction of thoughts jotted down in epiphany-like fervor. They were for me to stumble upon at a later date, by chance, offering a moment of
reflection to myself, a marker to where my thoughts were and where I stood about things, any things. I don't recall the exact motivation to compile these writings into a public form, but I know the idea came to fruition when music was implemented as the format to best express the emotional side of these mumblings; a value existing in rhythm and tone. I guess you could call it a pulse, the animation of expression. Music’s offerings would allow rhythm to keep relativity of harmony, linking each writing’s tone to one another and allowing the work in it’s entirety to be seen as a single song, each writing representing minor motifs that develop with the passing and changing of time.
For me, lacking any formal musical education, it’s all about the mystique around the hearing, the discovering of intricate webs of musical patterns. Sure this is called that, and that I'm sure is called
this; every pattern has a name, but I enjoy the discovery, I enjoy naming my own finds.
If the voice is an instrument, then the tonal arrangement of the words worded and language languaged can be interpreted musically. Side Two is what can be best described as a tonal interpretation of the imagery developed from the vocal readings on Side One. If Side One is the vocal element of a song, then Side Two is its instrumental counterpart.
If rhythm induces harmony to connect pieces of inner dialog that bring a thought to life through a pulse, then it is safe to say that music is half of the equation when discussing the representation of emotion in visual communication and self expression.

Lover of all things literary and long-term word fondler @r0urke has jumped back onto the bydeadface train and requested a quantity of a little handsewn book that was once used as a tool by him to conspire, inspire, and combat what would be his wiser and more elaborate stories that later came to fruition. 9 handsewn pocket-sized Piece Of Remembers and a book he coined himself via text as "A Listen Mission"; used to document the finer points made inside the 9 books he undoubtedly will fill with a flurry of cryptic alphanumeric nonsense, but assuredly will arrange such smut into a competent and thought provoking even bigger piece of nonsense. Recorded to 1/4" Magnetic Tape using a Sony TCR-500 Tapecoder at a recording speed of 7 1/2 ips. Vocals were recorded using a SHURE SM58 Dynamic Microphone. Side 2 Instrumental was recorded using a KORG Monologue Analog Synthesizer.
Side 2 documents the second and only time I have ever played a musical instrument. This is presented live, unedited, and in one take.
