THE ICONS ISSUE IS HERE. @badbunnypr is the first solo man — and first Latino — to ever grace the cover. I wrote the story 🥲 We spoke about the power of influence — what it means to simultaneously be the biggest star on the planet right now while also being an immensely proud Puerto Rican. The complex emotions surrounding reaping so much success in the United States while it continuously overlooks the island’s input, impact, and people. We spoke about style of course and the importance of creative freedom. How “yo hago lo que me de la gana” isn’t just a catch phrase or an album title but the total ethos of everything he touches and creates. I’ll probably do a separate post on what this moment really means to me, but first I must thank @samiranasr for trusting me to not just write any story but a SEPTEMBER cover, @leahchernikoff for being an amazing editor and letting me keep “shaking ass” in the final copy (LOL) and @nikkiogun for her support and cheering me on. A special thank you to @iamcardib (!!!!) and @amprgroup for contributing to the piece as well (the only person I would do a midnight call in London for!) and my incredible friend @sandra__nevarez who Benito himself called “the GOAT of translators”. Thank you @netflix for having me moderate a pre-Emmy panel discussion earlier this week with the incredible @tessamaethompson and @only1crystalfox talking all things His & Hers (AKA one of the best and juiciest shows of the year!) Both of their performances stay with you long after the final episode and I loved being able to dive into their individual creative processes.

After six years, today is my last day at @harpersbazaarus — and that’s a sentence I still really can’t believe I’m typing. Even as a lifelong magazine lover, I never in a million years thought I would work somewhere like Bazaar. I was quite literally plucked out of freelance obscurity years ago and knew I couldn’t let go of the chance I was given…so over the years I knew all I could do was give everything my absolute all. I think I did that and then some.    From profiling some of the most incredible artists to once-in-a-lifetime experiences (Beyoncé in Dubai! Meghan and Harry!), working with so many incredible writers and contributors, and of course being able to have a front row seat from day one of @samiranasr incredible transformation of this title, I feel so incredibly blessed and fulfilled to have worked with such a stellar team. I can say I’ve accomplished 99.99% of everything I ever set out to do here and I could have kept doing it for many more years…but growth—and challenging ourselves—is important. Change can be scary…but it’s also good.    To anyone and everyone who supported me in any sort of way during this journey…thank you 🩷 Especially to my husband Ben, who has been my biggest cheerleader—from driving me across the country to make the move to Brooklyn years ago and always reminding me to not forget all that it took to make these dreams come true—and most importantly, to never take them for granted.    That’s all she wrote…for now! Yes, I too am obsessed with @lovestoryfx .    I loved being able to sit down with @ofishalpak and @sarah__pidgeon to talk about bringing JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette to life. The research, care, and intention that has gone into their performances should not go overlooked. The series isn’t just a reimagining of their relationship; it’s a depiction of how and why America fell in love with them too.    I love this shoot. I love this story. Ben is a simple man and last year he told me he’d love to be able to see bison IRL one day. So almost immediately, I began plotting a trip to Yellowstone for his 35th birthday. Montana has been magical — I’ve truly forgotten what it’s like to look up and see stars ✨ I am obsessed with seeing deer frolicking so freely and am fully stopping myself from turning into Snow White and singing to them 😂 A few days of R&R isn’t enough to show my appreciation for a husband who has supported me endlessly through a slightly insane, emotional roller coaster of a year. I am beyond blessed and grateful to go through life with you @callme_step and I hope we can keep exploring more wide open spaces in the many years to come 💕 love you xx

Ravyn Lenae for @harpersbazaarus Icons 2025 🌻 This story is such a full circle moment and so special to me. Ravyn was one of my first ever assigned profiles when I was living in Chicago a decade ago and balancing waitressing day to day while figuring out my voice as a writer. She was just a teen, juggling school and studio sessions and growing up during one of the most formative and memorable times for Chicago music. It felt so good—so healing!—to reflect together on how Chicago is a city that stays with you forever. Of course, we knew she was a star then and especially now. I’m thrilled we’re recognizing her *years* of work in this year’s Icons portfolio and I hope this story captures even a tiny tidbit of the magic she holds as an artist ✨ It’s truly only up from here!!!
