We took a huge financial hit this Eid… but I’d do it all again. Our team is based in Bahrain who have been fulfilling all Eid orders. With the war and missiles, cargo lines all suspended. With hundreds of Eid orders to fulfill, last Friday I booked a flight to KSA in an attempt to ‘save Eid’. Orders were stuck in Bahrain and I watched brands start cancelling. But I couldn’t because behind every order is someone who has patiently been waiting for Eid. And behind every piece is one of our tailors who spent hours hand making it. So I got to Bahrain, everything was going so smoothly. I had Iftar with my team and we were so hopeful that everything was going to plan. But then I got to Dammam to make ways home. Flights all got cancelled. The airport closed down due to missiles hitting Bahrain. It was 12am, I was stuck in Dammam alone with over 100kg of luggage and no way home. (I had to be home Monday morning in order to fulfil my international orders - otherwise they would have arrived late). So I took a 4 hour taxi ride to Riyadh. With no game plan, no flight booked. I just had to get to a working airport. My plan was to go back to London through Jeddah — until I saw a flight to Madinah. SubhanAllah. For weeks I have been saying how much my soul is craving Madinah … but a trip during Ramadan would never be feasible with the business (our peak season). Yet somehow I found myself there. On the 27th night. With a flight home booked for Monday 3am. So I spent my Sunday in the Haram with no WiFi, no distractions. Just the peace I have been craving these last few weeks. In that moment everything made sense. The stress, losses, delays — nothing was a setback. It was redirection. So yes we took a financial hit this Eid with flights, luggage and upgrading to express shipments out of pocket. But الحمدلله Your orders are on the way — tracking has all been sent out and my heart is full This brand has never been about profit. It’s about care, intention and doing our best even when things don’t go as planned. Thank you for trusting us and making all of this possible, we would not be here without you.
