Race week at the rollercoaster‼️🎢🇧🇪
Euroformula goes to Spa with expanded grid: Drivex rejoins, BVM enters fourth car.
After a lively and interesting season-opener at the Algarve, the 2026 Euroformula Open is heading to one of its most iconic stops: Spa-Francorchamps. The legendary 7,004-kms track in the Ardennes is considered one of the ‘universities of motorsports’ where any driver aims to graduate.
The three races in Portugal have proven how competitive and closely-fought the series is this year too. Besides that, the news that 2025 EFO champion Tymek Kucharczyk, has taken last Sunday at Indianapolis, his maiden win in the Indy NXT, the formula immediately below the Indycar, and is now second in the standings, comes as a further proof of the value of the Euroformula Open and of the technical package formed by the Dallara 324 chassis, the Tom’s engine and the Pirelli tyres.
At Spa, the focus will be on the fight at the top, as always, but also on the expansion of the grid, which will reach 14 cars in Belgium, with the noticeable addition of one new team, Drivex. ‘New’ is a correct word only to a certain extent, given the long past association of the Spanish squad with the series, tracing back to the times of the European F3 Open. The squad led by Miguel Ángel De Castro has always invested in the promotion of new talents, as testified by the three titles in the junior class (Copa or Rookie Trophy) conquered in the EFO.
Drivex is to enter two cars in Belgium, in the first of the selected outings planned for this season. At the wheel will be two South American drivers: Brazil’s Filippo Fiorentino and Argentina’s Genaro Trappa, the latter having already tasted the series in one event last year.
The other addition to the grid is brought by BVM Racing, which enters a fourth car for Brazil’s Alceu Feldmann, bringing the number of South American representatives to four.

Feldmann joins BVM Racing in a fourth car at Spa‼️4️⃣💥
BVM Racing will field at Spa a fourth Dallara 324. The Italian squad of Giuseppe Mazzotti will entrust this car to young Brazilian Alceu Feldmann.
The son of a GT and a Stock Car Brazil, Feldmann, an 18-years-old from São Paulo, has been racing internationally since 2025 in the Eurocup3, where he is in activity this season, and the F.Regional Middle East. Prior to that, he raced in the F.4 Brazil, clinching two wins in 2025.
Feldmann joins Alessandro Famularo, Javier Herrera and Divy Nandan in the line-up of the Italian squad, and should race also in the Paul Ricard and Monza rounds.

Emotional win for Famularo (BVM) in Race 2 after Nandan’s great show‼️🔥🏆
Alessandro Famularo (BVM Racing) took his maiden Euroformula Open this morning in Race 2 at the Autódromo do Algarve. The Venezuelan driver benefitted of the misfortune of his teammate Divy Nandan, who surprisingly led the race up to two laps from the end before making a slight mistake at the braking of Turn 2 and going wide.
Still, Famularo made a perfect race behind the Indian and found himself in the right place and the right moment. The success repays him of the many setbacks endured in his career, explaining his emotion at the end of the race: “One year ago, I was basically a retired driver, and after so many ups and downs, so many career breaks, to be here on the top step of a EFO podium leaves me speechless. This one is for the team, for my family, for my sponsors, for all who continued to believe in me, and for my beloved Venezuela!”
Nandan and Famularo, the two BVM Racing drivers, were in first row in the reversed grid. The Indian, almost unknown in Europe, took a perfect start and masterfully controlled events throughout the race, building a gap that almost reached ten seconds. Behind him, Famularo firmly kept second ahead of De la Torre and Yeh, while Carrasquedo climbed up to fifth after a poor start, with Stack as his main rival.
In lap 16, though, Nandan missed the breaking point in Turn 2, running wide and rejoining fourth before dropping further down to a final ninth position. Physically exhausted, the India nearly missed what would have been a sensational success, but proved his speed. Jesse Carrasquedo also dropped down in the closing laps, leaving fourth to Stack and fifth (and Rookies’ success) to Dobrzanski.
The Euroformula gears up for another great Motopark-BVM duel 🇩🇪⚔️🇮🇹
It’s time to take the track again for the Euroformula Open: the 2026 season kicks off this weekend, once again on the hills overlooking Portimão and the Atlantic, in the Autódromo do Algarve, whose 4,653-km layout represents a demanding and rewarding test for any driver.
It will be the 26th running of the single-seater formula by GT Sport, the 13th under the Euroformula Open denomination and the second with the new technical package introduced last year. The Dallara 324 and the Tom’s engine, together with the Pirelli tyres, have proven in just one season to be a top-class proposition for young drivers and top teams, with no major changes to the fundamentals of the product, based on a 3-race event format, 8 rounds on prestigious and F.1-graded tracks, and a top-level TV production.
Last year, the series lived an action-packed season, ending with a breathtaking finale at Monza, which crowned Tymek Kucharczyk (BVM Racing) as champion. It is certainly interesting to note that the young Pole is now shining in the Indy NXT, where he has taken three podium finishes in the first three race, looking set to join shortly the club of EFO graduates having become IndyCar stars in recent years, which includes names such Alex Palou, Colin Herta, Louis Foster, Ed Jones, Devlin DeFrancesco, and Linus Lundqvist, to name just the most prominent. A club that has its F.1 counterparts in drivers of the likes of Carlos Sainz, Yuki Tsunoda, Liam Lawson, and Jack Doohan.

Alessandro Famularo back for a full season with BVM Racing‼️🔥🧑🚀🇻🇪
BVM Racing has named and announced another driver for the 2026 Euroformula Open: Alessandro Famularo. The 22-year-old Venezuelan driver already had a taste of the series and the team, as he contested the last three rounds of the 2025 season, scoring points in all nine races he participated in and taking a 4th in Race 3 at Barcelona as his best finish.
Famularo, who had previously raced in Europe in 2020-22 (in FRECA and FIA F3) and retook his formula career last year after a hiatus due to lack of budget, commented: “I never gave up on my dream, even when people were saying it was impossible, and continued preparing myself with all determination. I’m happy to be back racing, thanks to the support of the sensational Furia Team [a sportsmen management company investing in Venezuelan talents]. The coming season is a challenge and a strategic step in our objective, to have Venezuela represented again at the highest level of motor racing.”
BVM Racing, which could field up to four cars this season, has already confirmed Mexico’s Javier Herrera.

Mexico’s Herrera, first driver named by BVM Racing‼️🧑🚀🇲🇽
BVM Racing, which brought Tymek Kucharczyk to the Euroformula Open last year, will obviously continue to be a strong force in the series this year, having confirmed a three-car entry for the season.
The first driver to be announced by the Ravenna-based team led by Giuseppe Mazzotti is Mexico’s Javier Herrera. The 16-year-old from Monterrey has raced in karting in the Americas and Europe before graduating to single-seaters last season, when he finished 3rd and best rookie in the CEZ F.4 Championship. He also made appearances in the Italian and E4 series.
Herrera is now ready to climb to Euroformula and has been testing extensively and successfully with BVM in recent months.
