🇹🇭 Part 3 : The Food, The Taste of the City
Other than the scene and the beautiful city itself, the food in Bangkok was probably some of the best food i’ve ever had. Food in every corner of the streets, even the air smelled amazing. Wherever we went, the streets never stopped cooking. Smoke in the air, loud streets, small tables, foodstall on every corner. Even after walking the whole day and feeling exhausted, somehow we’d still end up saying “one more meal before going home” every single night.
Before going to Bangkok, i already told myself i was gonna try as much local food as possible. So i did. I even tried the dancing shrimp. Half the time i didn’t even know what i was ordering. Sometimes i just pointed at a random menu and used hand gestures while laughing with the vendors because none of us understood each other lol.
And honestly, 7-Eleven became the place i visited the most while i was there. Something about walking around the city for hours, then suddenly going into a 7-Eleven to grab food and sit down for a bit just felt comforting. Simple, but it really helped me a lot. And the food was actually great too.
I still remember sitting at those tiny tables late at night, completely tired after walking around all day, eating food i couldn’t even pronounce, but it started to feel comfortable really fast. And even now that i’m already back home, i still miss the smell of the streets at night, the smoke in the air, and those small tables on the side of the road. Mentally, i think part of me is still in Thailand. Just like my friend said, “i know i’d find my way back here” Thanks for all the memories. See you again soon, Bangkok🫶🏻
Oh and btw that vid at the end was just me and @rfatakusuma trying to do a food review before flying back home😂
🇹🇭 Part 2 : The City of Bangkok, and Everything in Between
Most of our time in Bangkok was just us walking around the city. No real plans, no destination, we just walked and figured things out as we go. We walked a lot.
One night in Chinatown, just surrounded by neon lights everywhere, it didn’t even feel real. Then the Train Night Market, crowded, loud, full of life, street food everywhere, people cooking right in front of you and smoke rising up with that crazy good smell. We kept stopping every few steps just to take it all in. We’d turn into random alleys, end up on busy roads packed with people heading home, taking buses, trains, some even taking boats. Everything felt alive and constantly moving. This was chaos, but somehow it felt right. I even got lost at the Chatuchak Weekend Market at one point, trying to ask locals for directions, struggling with the language. Couldn’t really understand each other, but we still figured it out somehow. That moment stuck with me.
Everything we saw felt new. Different from home in every way. But the weird thing is, even with all the noise, the chaos, the heat, i felt a kind of peace i don’t usually feel.
🇹🇭 Part 1 : Hardcore, The Scene and it’s People
(xHellrazorx at Concrete Jungle Fest)
Spent a week in Bangkok, playing our own music, being on the same lineup with bands we grew up listening to, bands that inspired us, at one of the biggest hardcore fests in Southeast Asia.. in Thailand?! We worked our asses off for this, but honestly it still doesn’t feel real. I’m really grateful for all of you, to the people who gave us this opportunity, the ones who helped us on and off the stage, and everyone who made this whole thing happen. It really means a lot.
I’ve always been that quiet, awkward guy. Never had the guts to talk to new people. But this time felt different. I’ve never felt this welcomed anywhere before. Somehow i ended up making so many friends just by talking to people, something i would’ve never done before. Hardcore really gave me that space, a space where i can just be myself without overthinking everything. And for once, i actually feel like i belong.
So yea, THANK GOD FOR HARDCORE.
And to everyone i met along the way, thank you for being real. I love you all 🫶🏻
Banyuwangi to Malang trip, two band, two day, two city.
(Still Broken & Day of Salvation)
Just got back from Yogyakarta with xHellrazorx last night. Heading to Banyuwangi with Still Broken and Day of Salvation in the morning, then off to Malang the day after (still with SB & DOS).
If I’m being honest, I’m tired. Like really tired. Tired of being away from home all the time, tired of the long roads, tired of dealing with different weather, tired of pushing my body to its limit. Like i would just sit there and questioned myself, what am i even doing?
But then i get home, scroll through my gallery, see all the random pics and shaky videos, and it hits me again. Those moments. I know my body wants to stop, every part of it. But the joy i get from those moments with my friends, that’s what keeps me going. Coming back home after 3–5 days being miles away from home is what makes all of this feel real. All the pain, all of it was worth it.
So yeah, maybe hardcore is in my veins. But my friends were really the core of it. I love you all.
Yogyakarta short trip, Outlaws Syndicate
(xHellrazorx)
I was literally rushing to buy tickets when i found out that Contention was doing a SEA tour and hitting 3 cities in Indonesia. Then out of nowhere, a friend of mine told me that we were given the opportunity to be on the lineup for one of the shows, and that is Yogyakarta. Fastest yes i’ve ever given, no question lol. I’ve had almost every Contention song on my playlist, so being on the same stage as them is wild. Almost feels like a fever dream. Honestly, it’s an honor.
And on top of that, Yogyakarta is a beautiful city. The vibe, the food, we really enjoy all of it. The friends we met at YKHC were chill AF, and we had a lot of fun. Overall, it was a great experience. And i just wanna say thanks to everyone involved for the opportunity. We’re seriously grateful.
