The absolute highlight of my 2024 pick ups.
If you don’t know this band I strongly urge you to rectify that.
Big Boys - industry standard/ where‘s my towel LP
Wasted Talent 1981 US 1st press
Unfortunately one of the 3 inserts is missing but given the rarity of this monster I couldn’t pass up the opportunity.
If you should have a spare one lying around get in touch.
Now go start your own band!
A favorite pick up from late 2024/ early 2025.
Poison Ivy is one of the most amazing artists the world has had the pleasure to witness. None better.

Wild and strong bunch of some of the last records I picked up in 2024.

Lots of memories tied around adding these to my collection.
Last one of the trifecta pulled from @allagesrecords in Nov. '24 and I don‘t think there are many words needed. Opposite to public believe this (these) and Milo Goes To College is about everything crucial The Descendents ever released before grinding off the edges and the pop took over.
Not feeling like dropping major dough on originals this platter compiling:
ride the wild / hectic world 7“ 1980
fat ep 7“ 1981
global probing off of 1981‘s Chunks VA LP
has been repressed a couple of times and even the OG bonus fat 12“ is still available for relatively cheap. This one here though is a late repress and will do just fine until I come upon a small fortune and hunt down the original singles.
Another one from the @allagesrecords haul in Nov. 2024
The Wasps formed in february of 1976 and released their 1st 7“ Teenage Treats b/w She Made Magic in late '77. Even later that year they contributed Can‘t Wait 'Til 78 to a Live At The Vortex split 7“ and in 1979 released another two song 7“ Rubber Cars b/w This Time before they called it quits but it looks like they reformed a good 40 years later to release an LP in 2022. Not sure what that one‘s like and somehow I‘m afraid to find out 😄😉
Teenage Treats is an absolute, much comped UK '77 hit and the OG 7“ pressing is still rather cheap as this gem is not on most peoples radar.
This compilation features their 1st 7“, the Live At Vortex split 7“ track plus another one recorded the same night (a very good and unique Interpretation of a VU classic btw.) and adds demos of the '79 swansong 7“ tracks among others.
Not all of the demo tracks are very good but at least opener Jjjenny and second to last song Stranger Love are killers too.
So I can definitely recommend buying this compilation. Not sure though if 2011's This Was Punk comp LP is the better choice as I don‘t have that one (yet?). Can anyone chip in? Which is the better comp? Does TWP have other recordings of the demo tracks? Or maybe even a studio recording of the VU cover?
The Wasps - punkryonics comp. LP
2022 Radiation Reissues - Italy
OG: 2003 CD release on Overground Records - UK
@the_wasps_uk_punk_official
November 2024 I went to London to see Unbroken and of course I dropped in at @allagesrecords
Well worth it not just for the records but here‘s one that I picked up.
The Cortinas - singles and demos 1977/1978 LP
2021 Radiation Records
Premier '77 Punk from Bristol. Their first 7“ from early 1977 is up their with the best of them. 'Fascist Dictator‘ being the song I got to know them by as it was comped a couple of times and is probably their best known song but I prefer the B-Side to that 45. 'TV Families'.
For this LP though it’s the other way around. Their early recordings on Side A are certainly better than the later stuff on Side B even if it wasn‘t much later. Everything was recorded in 1977 and Jan. 1978.
Anyway… This is a must have for all UK Punk heads if only for the convenience of having their best recordings in one place. Somehow this band flies under most peoples radar which is why their OG 7“es are still pretty cheap. Either way if you don’t know them yet check 'em out.
Hardcore is alive and well these days and here is a little bit of the proof that I have. (Thank you @mullimoul for the 2 one-pagers you brought to the show yesterday)
About 30 years ago I set foot on this steamboat. Passengers came and went with the tides.
Moving on through thick n thin.
Never though was it more vibrant and inclusive.
Yes, every rose has it thorns but in this brief moment let’s just revel in the beauty of it.
A spooky Halloween dance craze special 🎃 by Forced Rene. Who came up with that name for you my friend? You compare it to my nick and see how it lacks but it doesn’t have to stay like that as from now on I‘ll refer to you as Renerrative. How cool‘s that?! And why the hell do I of all people have to come up with it?
Love the zine… and your late honesty 😂
How one can not like The Meteors eludes me but ok Ska it will be the next time.
Halloween Edge Fest and Halloween Mosh were amazing. Thanks & praise go out to everyone involved. Hopefully work won‘t get in the way again this year like it did the years before. Already looking forward to this years torture run. @forcednarrativezine
