A 32-year musical collaboration. I have had the privilege of being Madison Symphony Orchestra Maestro John DeMain’s audio engineer since his first concert here. Working sound balances for an orchestra requires something akin to a Vulcan mind-meld with the conductor; it’s an amazing process, and I’m so glad I have been on this journey with friends like John and the musicians of the MSO.
Douglas Lora of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet asked me to take a couple photos of him on the Overture stage, so I thought I’d get one with him. I’m having fun doing sound for this terrific concert with Madison Symphony.
When mixing sound for orchestral repertoire, the important thing is to be in sync with the conductor. My first time working with Maestro Laura Jackson is going well.
Johnny Danger, me, and Robert Love are in my studio working on a thing. There are non-disclosure agreements involved, so I can only reveal two things: 1. It’s a thing, and 2. We’re working on it.
