“Money lives in coins because children, when they find money, put it in their pockets and hide it in their rooms. They do this with other things. Shiny beads and hunks of quartz. They hide these things and look at them. They smooth them over in their palms. They contain something – something like money. But it isn’t.” – Ruby Bilger

A special mention to Maria Jooyoung for creating the set for Dino Wiand’s performance, transforming the space into a 1970s nightclub inspired by Dino’s photos of New York’s legendary, now closed Dangerfield’s comedy club.
With the expert support of Takahiro Kudo on the installation.
Photographs by Nicolas Hsiung, beautifully documenting the set.

A big thank you Dino Wiand for flying over with your disco light last Saturday night and entertaining and challenging us in impossible ways
to the beautiful audience who showed up, laughed, cried, took pictures and made the event so special
to Siddhartha Lokanandi who bartendered with panache
and to Maria Jooyoung for transporting us back to the glamour of the 1970s with one astonishing all out set design!

Dino Wiand – In the Mind of a Disco Light
Saturday, 14th March 2026, Berlin
Buzzer Reeves proudly presents the premiere of Dino Wiand’s ‘In the Mind of a Disco Light’.
Dino Wiand is a British-American, genre-defying performer who developed his stand-up routine in the comedy clubs of New York and Glasgow. He relocated to Los Angeles eight years ago, where he produced a body of outlandish film and theatre scripts, appeared in a series of underground films, and most recently returned to the stage as a lead actor with New Theatre Hollywood.
‘In the Mind of a Disco Light’ takes on an expanded form of stand-up fused with a theatrical performance that spirals around a homicidal disco light haunting the dancers of a 1970s nightclub in Rimini - a premise not entirely abstract for Wiand, who quite literally grew up inside a nightclub, albeit in Leeds, Northern England.

Today a small celebration of 2 collaborators - Maria Jooyoung jumped in so whole heartedly to create a stage and set for Labjure against all odds and delivered something entirely ‘beyond’ for the 40 minute performance. Behind the scenes it was an inspiration to see this generosity and dedication to creating something so special for its own sake. Hats off to youz and eternal thanks!
