Autumn for me. Celebrating the season with all of its colour. A selection of needle felted acorns and wet felted leaves headed to the beautiful @__epoche__ to add to their beautiful Autumn display. I'll be packaging up some little kits for you to create your own acorns at home, just waiting for the boxes to arrive to snuggly pack everything you need. Pop a little 🍁 if you think this might interest you. Australia only due to the real acorn caps. These probably can't be sent overseas sorry.🍁❤️

Taking some time today to place a few more stitches and needle felting into this piece. I'm loving the process of no fixed idea or plan and to just enjoy the journey of creating. Plan or no plan..... what is your favourite?

The beautiful nature of intertwined creation from one maker to another. The lovely Sandy who has come to several of my fibre art workshops gifted me some crocheted leaves that she created at another workshop in the Yarra Valley by Le @teaandcakecrochet . Funnily, Le and I know each other through this beautiful crafting community. This intersection of creativity feeds my soul and I am grateful to meet so many wonderful folk on this crafting journey. ❤️ I really need this tutorial as I need to crochet some leaves!

It's never the wrong season to needle felt a little scene, even if you're on the other side of the world to where Spring is actually occurring🌼🌸❤️ I've really enjoyed incorporating the seasonal needle felted hoop landscapes into my workshop calendar, and I've almost created a full set for home❤️

Happy Mother's Day❤️. Like the changing seasons, there is always beauty. Recognising the forever changing phases of Motherhood, on ourselves, our children, family, what our children bring, what we manage to push through, embrace, challenged by. What builds us up, what tears us down, the smiles, the tears, the hugs the long nights, the endless jobs, juggling and logistics. The quiet moments sitting in the car, the greetings, excitement in faces and chatter on school pick up in the young years, to the silent voices that walk through the door at times as teenagers. The clutching of your hand or leg to determined independence, even though they might silently want your hand as they move through their own phases. I am forever grateful to experience all of this and hold my heart in my hands. I am grateful to my own mum and what she gifted me. I send out warm hugs to all of the mummas who are exhausted, feel rested, feeling loved or unloved... this is beauty in all of its forms. Big hugs and love❤️.

As many of you know, this piece didn't have a set plan, and I'm so grateful that's how it started as I keep finding beautiful yarns and fibres to entwine into its story. I found this yarn by @fibresmith at the @yarravalleywoolcraftshow and the colours were so totally perfect for this piece🙏. Happy little accidents as they say❤️.

There was a chill in the air today and although the Autumn days have been spectacular, Winter snuck a reminder in. June 21st is the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year, here in Australia. We have such a wonderful hills community festival the weekend closest to the Solstice, and I'm looking forward to creating more of these lanterns with others in a workshop early June.

It's been a stunning few weeks of Autumn weather up here in the hills and the colours are vibrant. The perfect compliment to nature with wet felted leaves today. A very focused group who not only wet felted a panel of colour, but also cut out many beautiful leaves. There were also some who upon finishing their panel looked at their beautiful piece and couldn't bring themselves to cut it (I totally understood) either now, later or never, and wanted to enjoy the piece as it was. The beauty of wool, inspired by nature and created with our hands. I think that's a pretty lovely way to spend a Saturday morning. What's filling your cup this weekend?🍁🍂❤️ Beautiful roving from @winterwoodcraft

Creating is never a waste of time. We learn with every new piece what we need to adjust with the materials to improve the next one. This is the most beautiful merino wool dyed from @beershebafarm and my usual amount of layers weren't enough as it needs additional layers to hold its form. But that's ok as I'll make those adjustments with the next bowl, and the one after that, as we are all learning whilst we work with beautiful fibres which often have a life of their own. I feel pretty lucky to learn like this. ❤️🐑

I'm loving Autumn, with all of the colours, smells and sounds. Our beautiful next season is Winter, in all of its chilly glory❄️ I've updated the listings with new dates and workshops to give people time to plan. Using the Classbento platform, there are many payment options including PayPal and Afterpay to make it easier when budgeting. Hopefully there will be something to inspire for cosy crafting projects in the chilly months to come. ❄️🌧

Autumn colours like little gnocchi! Some colourful makes from this and last Autumn. They remind me of my Nonna and father lining up the gnocchi on a large wooden tray. Warm wholesome food, made with love❤️
What have your Autumn makes been? I'd love to hear about your favourite projects for this gorgeous season🍁

We shared in our first Autumn landscape workshop today, all the beautiful colours, hills, mountains, rolling pastures and trees. Even though everyone's was unique, they all had a similar feeling of inviting us into the landscape and going for an Autumn walk. Gosh I love this season. On this Wurundjeri land where we stand, it is the Waring season, one of 7 Indigenous seasons in this area where I live. Wombat season. Cool mornings with wombats emerging from their burrows to feed. Indigenous seasons are linked to changes in the weather, stars, and the cycle of plant and animal life.
