Y’all see my mama … this is the late 80s in our living room in Brooklyn, where she’d host lingerie sample sales and model the product for friends and clients… it almost felt like a Tupperware party but for nice pajamas & panties lol , all while I peaked my head out from the bedroom dreaming of designing my own collection of clothes some day. Soon after I discovered her fashion portfolio - where she left off, after having me while she was attending the High School of Fashion Industries. I remember first seeing her sketches and knowing instantly I wanted to do the same thing. I’ve really been about this life ever since the days of making clothes for my Barbie’s in this same living room, after my mom would take me to the local fabric store - this is EAST NY Bklyn btw. IYKYK. I took the baton and ran with it, so it’s a full life circle experience to be a mom watching my daughter look identical to my baby pics , and design ensembles on my mannequin like she was born for this. Thank you mama for being there for me evvvery step along the way, on the good days, the bad days, for every loss and every win! And for being my other half in raising Nylah. I wouldn’t be able to do half of what I’ve achieved since becoming a mom if it weren’t for your support along the way, allowing me to keep the dream alive 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️
