Sometimes the hardest part is letting go.
I’d had our dining table since childhood. It raised me, and then it raised my family. But it carried old energy, keeping me in patterns that no longer fit.
So I sold it. No replacement waiting. Just empty space.
We had a picnic on the floor, laughed, and dreamed about what could be.
And the very next morning the perfect table appeared. Almost brand new, big enough for all of us, and exactly what we needed.
It reminded me that when you clear space, life rushes in with something better.
Sometimes you just have to trust.

My Great Grandmother born on this day in 1894. I’ve been thinking about her a lot these last 24 hours. The things she overcame and accomplished. What I’ve been contemplated the most is what she did late in her life after she became blind. She learnt braille, the Bible her favourite book to read. I have a chair she had woven the top of. She covered coat hangers, never allowing her lack of vision stop her.
And of course before this she taught herself to cook on the roadside, built a business around food, immigrated to Australia and raised a family.
I sometimes wish the generations before me could live forever so I could continue to glean wisdom.
Eternally grateful for this woman and what she’s gifted us.
